20190820 – Trials and Interviews

Several Nationals greyhounds had a look at the Cannington track tonight.

20180220 – Mandurah Tuesday

“South clocks 22.99 to bring up his 21st career win”

Mandurah specialist South didn’t begin well in tonight’s Sign Strategy Call Phil Masters Race, but still managed to comfortbaly account for his rivals in the smart run of 22.99. The son of Elite State settled in fifth position at the first turn but he was only a few lengths from the leader and out wide on the track. Rank outsider Topline Khaleesi ($31 fixed) had found the front from box 7 for Shane Beard and the Max Julien prepared Podge was in hot pursuit. At half way Podge and South formed a line of three with Topline Khaleesi on the fence and as the trio straightened South hit top gear and dashed away. Podge hit the line strongly but South won by two lengths in a great time for a Masters Race (22.99). Topline Khaleesi held third and boosted Trifecta and First Four dividends. South is raced by Ricky Valenti (trainer), D. Ashby and B. Barker, he has now started 90 times for 21 wins, 26 minor placings and $46,770 in stakes. All of his 21 career triumphs have resulted over the 405m distance.


Race 2 Number 7 NEED MORE COIN : Missed the kick as usual before making up many lengths and finishing a close up third.

Race 5 Number 2 PARTY GAMES : Flashed to victory in the sensational time of 22.64.

20171017 – Mandurah Tuesday

EZI PICK (Kinloch Brae- Sassy Road) scored an upset first up Maiden win in WA for new trainer Lexia Isaac. The brindle dog was well supported, however finished unplaced at Shepparton on debut back in September. He won tonight in 23.27, in defeating Groove Away by 3 1/4 lengths.

IT’S THE HORSE (Fabregas- Whispering Ling) showed speed from his outside draw and crossed to lead at his second race start. The Enzo Crudeli trained youngster then held off his rivals as he scored by 1 3/4 lengths in 22.90.

SURE ENOUGH (Sure As- Tickle Me) was able to work to the lead at his first start in WA for new trainer Cosi Dagostino. The former Victorian chaser recently won a qualifying trial in 22.99 so started favourite from box 6. The black dog scored by 2 1/4 lengths in driving rain in 23.32.



20170725 – Mandurah Tuesday

TRIPLE CROWN FOX (Barcia Bale- Love To Rock) recorded a last stride win on debut for trainer Tim Mullany. The youngster had won a recent qualifying trial and railed strongly to defeat Sunset Licorice by a head in 23.40.

SUNSET SHERBET (Where’s Pedro- Push It) caused an upset when she defeated kennel mate Fernado Monelli by half a length in 23.38. The young fawn bitch doesn’t turn two years of age until January and started at big odds on debut for trainer David Hobby.

KILI MONELLI (Fabregas- Sveta Monelli) recorded her Maiden win in 23.27 for trainer David Hobby after finishing second at her first two race starts. The black bitch raced clear of Heza Harley to win by 3 3/4 lengths.

20170530 – Mandurah Tuesday

FUN FACTOR (Kinloch Brae- Alotta Fantasy) recorded her Maiden debut after a couple of her rivals bumped in the home straight. The Lexia Isaac trained bitch had shown ability in recent trials before having little luck on debut. The red brindle bitch won by a neck in 23.32.

SUNSET JESSIE (Fabregas- Go Jessie’s Girl) was outstanding on debut jumping straight to the front and then raced the clock to win by 8 1/2 lengths in a slick 22.60. The David Hobby trained bitch doesn’t turn two years of age until November.

WEST ON STAR (Barcia Bale- Tearsabout Tears) ran home well to defeat the race favourite Two Stop Lamar and claim her Maiden victory. The Chris Halse trained youngster had been placed at her only two starts and scored in a slick 27.71.

20170221 – Mandurah Tuesday

“Bang Goes Wolf breaks maiden status for Terrington”

Trained out of the picturesque suburb of Port Kennedy, talented young chaser Bang Goes Wolf broke his maiden status in tonight’s A1 Salvage and Hardware Maiden over 405m. After being unplaced at his first four starts the son of Banjo Boy began swiftly and was able to take the lead at the first turn. Noted railer Benelli Monelli had settled in second position while race favourite Ice Monelli was bumped wide. At half way Bang Goes Wolf was beginning to stretch out and as he straightened it was clear he was going to win. He surged away to win by four lengths in a smart 23.08 and his long-striding action was eye-catching to say the least. Tonight was the first time he had earned a cheque for connections and trainer Bob Terrington will be bullish about the future given the way he hit the line.


Race 3 Number 1 SHIRIO OKAMI : Rocketed home to steal victory by the bearest possible margin.

Race 4 Number 2 GROOMER MCGRATH : Caught the eye with a fast finishing third.

20170131 – Mandurah Tuesday

EXPRESS GUNN (Mogambo- Fantasy Royale) showed speed from box 1 and then held off the late finishing burst of Moment To Rumba to win on debut. The Jayson Gunning trained bitch scored by a neck in 22.97.

SHIMA MUSKET (Barcia Bale- Shimaguni) was impressive winning on debut in WA for trainer Jen Thompson. The former Victorian placed chaser jumped to the lead and was able to stop the clock at 22.69, finishing 1 3/4 lengths ahead of Ideal Grace.

HELIOCENTRIC (Cosmic Rumble- Starlight Delly) started the week for trainer Linda Smithson off in the right manner, scoring his Maiden win in 22.92. The WA bred chaser is a litter brother to Smithson’s Gr 1 Sky Racing Perth Cup finalist Starlight Asha and owner Paul Stuart’s also trains litter brother Astrozone who is the races early favourite.

20170124 – Mandurah Tuesday

TERRESTRIAL (Cosmic Rumble- Starlight Delly) showed speed soon after the start and was able to lead into the home straight before recording his Maiden win in 23.09. The Linda Smithson trained dog had been placed twice from 4 previous starts and defeated Kennedy Shuffle by 2 3/4 lengths.

COMMANDER JACK (Bomber Command- Tomerong Gal) turned his form around when he was able to cross from box 8 and lead throughout to win his Maiden in 23.54. The black dog trained by Tony Williams defeated the race favourite Unique Olivia by half a length.

COSMIC EVOLUTION (Cosmic Rumble- Allen Bijoux) showed his best effort when he defeated Is She Wat by a length in 23.00. The Andrew Mclaren trained youngster turns two years of age in March and was having just his third career start.

20170117 – Mandurah Tuesday

MILKY LAND (Cape Hawke- Chasing Thieves) broke through for her Maiden victory when she led throughout from box 4. The Neville Smith trained bitch had only recently joined his kennel and she won by 1 1/2 lengths over Quacka’s Girl in 28.01.

YARINGA LASS (Supersite- Fortified Milly) was able to kick up a long the fence from box 1 and hold the lead before winning her Maiden in 23.30. The Michelle Beamish trained bitch was placed second on debut at her previous start.

VELOCITY ZAFINA (Ve Man Vane- Velocity Zoom) defeated Beau Keeping by a nose in 23.23 in her maiden victory. The Andrew McLaren trained black bitch had finished third twice from 4 previous career starts.

Greyhounds to follow:
Race 4 No 4 Oz Ten Tatious. Has now won twice from his past 3 starts for trainer John Paikos.

Race 5 No 5 Snapper Red. Chased home the talented Saint Lucia. While his is getting older another win should be just around the corner.

Race 10 + 11 abandoned due to electrical issues at the 405m start point.

20161227 – Mandurah Tuesday

GET THE BLUES (Barcia Bale- Hanify’s Jewel) followed up a close up second at Cannington over the 380 metres with a Maiden win over the 405 metres for trainer Ben MacLean. The young red fawn dog was able to hold the lead from box 1 and won by 1 3/4 lengths in 23.14.

ALFA TONIC (Barcia Bale- Mighty Elite) was impressive winning on debut with an all the way victory in 22.93. The Andrew Mclaren trained youngster, who doesn’t turn two years of age until April next year, won by 12 lengths in a dominant display.
The blue dog recently finished second in a qualifying trial and should improve further o tonight’s effort.

SHIFT PATTERN (Tauranga Bale- Miata) showed speed from box 7, however was held out by the well supported favourite Sin City Boy running into the first corner. The well bred Paul Stuart trained brindle dog switched to the fence and then drew away in the straight to win on debut in 22.98.
