“Romneya Monelli delivers career best performance”

Romneya Monelli has been a consistent earner since beginning her career but before today had only managed 2 victories from her 55 career starts. She won over 300m at Mandurah four weeks ago and followed with a 2nd, a 3rd and a 4th. Today’s A1 Salvage and Hardware Country Novice over 300m looked very suitable for the 27kg bitch and she drew favourably in box two. The daughter of Sennachie won the jump and made every post a winner, leading throughout and scoring by four lengths. Her time of 17.07 was magnificent for Angie Brown and it’s fair to say that she is now racing in career best form. Tika Magic ran second and two lengths away in third position was Big Kirl Kiki.

Race 3 Number 3 PRIME BILLIE : Challenged strongly and looks close to a win.

Race 5 Number 6 TARZAN : Flew to the first turn in 5.72 before leading all the way in 27.38.

“Marlin Monelli wins on debut for Michael Johnston”

Well bred youngster Marlin Monelli basically led throughout from box three to win tonight’s Canning Show Provincial Maiden over 380m. The son of Superior Panama shared the lead at the first turn before using his inside advantage to sail clear of the pack in the back straight. He then dashed away to beat Roseanna Gundi and Go Seek Isla by three lengths in a promising time of 21.95. He is out of Crown Monelli who won 8 of her 31 career starts for David Hobby and was responsible for some slashing times at the Mandurah track. She posted 22.48 over 405m and an equally impressive run of 27.50 over 490m. Marlin Monelli is owned by former trainer Tim Mullany who has mentored some quality greyhounds in the past like Arolok Daisy, Egotistical, Crocodile Daisy, Iron Bru and Texan Star.

Race 1 Number 1 PAD UP DECLAN : Began well and sizzled over 275m in a swift 15.87.

Race 4 Number 5 CHAROS MAX : Caught the eye with a fast turn of mid-race speed to run a bold second behind Miss Condoleeza.
