20231014 – Cannington Saturday – All Stars Sprint Heats

EUGENIUS (Shima Shine-Blame The Flame) finally broke through for his second Novice win, scoring by 3/4 of a length over Monkey Emoji in 29.98. The Jay Jacobson trained dog had won twice and had been placed 15 times from 21 career starts before his victory.

INSIDE SCOOP (Premium Share-Corporate Storm) crossed the favourite Sand Patch driving into the first corner and 5en led throughout to win by 3 lengths in a PB 29.61. The Christine Robartson trained youngster has now won 7 of 20 career starts.

MIXED DOZEN (Fernando Bale-Pepper Shiraz) led and held on to win by a half length over the fast finishing Disco Trixie in 42.28. The Paul Stuart trained finds the 715 metres to his limit however, was far enough in front down the back straight to hold on and win.

RUNAWAY TO MARS (Aussie Infrared-Miss America) crossed from box 6 and led throughout in the opening heat of the Gr 2 All Stars Sprint. The Krystal Shinners trained dog has been racing in outstanding form and stopped the clock in a new PB 29.61 defeating Sneaky Peaky by a half length.

20230809 – Cannington Wednesday – W.A. Championships

BLOOD DIAMANTÉ (Mepunga Blazer-Hayley’s Style) crossed from her wide draw and recorded her Maiden victory defeating Jacey Raider by 5 1/4 lengths in 22.15. The Colleen Pierson trained bitch was placed on debut 4 starts earlier however, had enjoy little luck since then.

SKYE MONELLI (Orson Allen-Leisel Monelli) scored an easy 5 3/4 length Maiden victory defeating Hill Figure after beginning better than her rivals. The Paul Kaltsis trained bitch recently joined his care and has been placed twice from her three previous starts for him.

GOOD AS HELL (Superior Panama- Sub Rosa) caused an upset win in the second of the Maidens I’ve the 520 metres. The Jamie Marsh trained bitch jumped well and then missed the trouble going into the first corner before holding off Cosy Corner by 1 1/2 lengths in 30.60.

CAMINO (Superior Panama-Starlight Yoyo) led throughout from box 3 and defeated Kisses For Kaos by 1 1/4 lengths on debut. The Paul Stuart trained youngster stopped the clock at 30.41.

20221022 – Cannington Saturday – All Stars Sprint

CRYPTO MONELLI (Fernando Bale- Penny Monelli) crossed from his wide draw and then railed underneath the leader coming around the home corner before winning by 2 1/2 lengths over Clifton Cruz in 30.18. The Morgan Turner trained dog has now won 3 times from 14 career starts.

WYNBURN BURNER (Worm Burner- Mrs Bubbles) crossed from box 8 over the 600 metres before and skipped away going along the back straight from his rivals. The Jackie Wilson trained chaser then held off the fast finishing run of Spin The Bottle to win by a 1/2 head in 35.09.

REDHEAD RIDER (My Redeemer- Gloria’s Bills) bounced back into the winners list with a dominant 4 3/4 length win over Iconic Indie after Keeping her out early. The Cosi Dagostino trained dog has now won 3 times from 9 starts over the 380 metres and has also been placed another 4 times.

VICE GRIP (Aston Dee Bee- Bells Are Ringin) became the first greyhound in WA racing history to win two Gr 2 All Stars when he ran down the leader Electrified in the final. The Adam Smithson trained star took his stake earnings past $510,000 with his length win in a new Race Record time of 29.69.

20220806 – Cannington Saturday – W.A. Sprint Championship Heats

RAINING CASH (Kinloch Brae- West On Lola) ran home strongly to claim the leader Traver’s Time and win his Maiden by 3/4 length in 30.30. The Enzo Crudeli trained youngster had been placed at his past 2 starts before the win.

GANGNAM MONELLI (Se Tali Sundance- Camelia Monelli) has really hit his straps winning at 4 of his past 7 starts. The Lewis Clay trained dog raced away from his rivals headed by Moruya Scorpion to win by 6 lengths in a PB 29.82.

SUNSET GIVENCHY (Cosmic Rumble- Sunset Gucci) crossed quickly from box 8 to sit on the leader Low Blow going past the judge the first time. The Eric Campana trained dog then raced to the front and scored an impressive 1 1/2 length win in 35.06 over the 600m.

PANAMA PEPPER (Superior Panama- Starlight Bella) hunted up from box 1 and held out his rivals before racing clear to defeat Hinto in the opening heat of the WA Sprint Championship. The Steve Withers trained star stopped the clock in a PB 29.69. MOMENTUM (Lightning Frank- Belron Bonnie) ran down Vice Grip, who was returning after an absence of 4 months on the sidelines, to score in the second heat in 29.92. The Cosi Dagostino trained chaser took his stake earnings past $200,000 with the win and goes into next Thursday’s WA Sprint Championship final.

20211016 – Cannington Saturday – All Stars Sprint Heats

SPECIAL GUNN (Fernando Bale- Nanza Gunn) led throughout from box 5 and recorded a 3 3/4 length Maiden win over Little Righteous in a PB 30.29. The Greg Horne trained bitch had been racing without luck, however once jumping to the front never looked in doubt.

WATCH ME SIZZLE (Mepunga Blazer- West On Lola) recorded just her second career win when she led throughout from box 3 defeating Midnight Asha by 6 1/4 lengths in a PB 29.87. The Enzo Crudeli trained bitch has always shown connections her ability, however has found trouble at most of her 9 career starts to date.

OWL JAI (Tureaud- Mandy Charm) led throughout from box 1 and with trouble behind him scored from the fast finishing Moruya Scorpion. The Joe Dailly trained dog saluted by 3/4 length on the line in 30.26. The brindle dog has won 11 of 47 career starts.

VICE GRIP (Aston Dee Bee- Bells Are Ringin) crossed from his wide draw, and with the race favourite Destruction blowing the start, the Adam Smithson trained dog worked past Sir Monty along the back straight. The black dog then held on to win by 3/4 length in 29.89 in the opening heat of the Gr 2 All Stars Sprint.

20200813 – Cannington Thursday – W.A. Sprint Championship

TOMMY SHELBY (Fernando Bale- Serena Fly High) took out the WA Sprint Championship after being heavily supported in from $2 to start a $1.40 favourite. The Steve Withers trained star overcame a poor start and then worked up to the leaders shoulders going into the first corner. After entering the back straight the peoples favourite raced away to win by 3 lengths over Sir Monty and Grace Ali in 29.82. The blue dog now gets to return to NSW for the Million Dollar Chase at Wentworth Park in October. He finished second behind Playlist in the recent Gr1 Vic Peters Final at that venue. Tommy has now won 15 of 21 starts and took his stake earnings past $153,000 plus WA bred bonuses.

SUNSET HELLFIRE (Mepunga Blazer- Sunset Jessie) crossed from box 8 and led throughout to win his Maiden in 29.90 by 4 lengths over Nangar Abby. His litter mate SUNSET NUCLEAR then gave David Hobby a race to race double with an all the way win over Geared Up by 6 lengths in 30.00 from box 1.

20190824 – Cannington Saturday – National Championships

REIDY’S RUNNER (Dyna Double One- Buxton Miss) scored a brilliant win in the All New SEN APP National Distance Final, defeating Victorian champ Tornado Tears and NSW chaser Veloce Nero. The win gave trainer Christine Bennett her greatest win in the sport and her first Gr 1 victory. The win was also WA’s third win in the National Distance Final joining Paradise Street and Miata to have won the feature representing their states. The black dog settled close to the leader Bronelly Jacob and was too strong for Tornado Tears, who was held up going off the back straight, winning by 4 lengths in 41.76. Pictured: Reidy’s Runner

PREMIUM SHARE (Kinloch Brae- Shared Equity) is the Crocmedia National Sprint champion after running down the leader Good Odds Harada from NSW. The win capped off a glorious night for WA after winning the National Distance final earlier with Reidy’s Runner. The Chris Halse trained dog settled close to the leader and with Victorian star Black opium being checked on the first corner, the WA star raced to glory stopping the clock at 29.59. Halse won the Sprint title last year with West On Augie at Sandown Park. NZ representative Dyna Dave ran a very good race in finishing third for trainer Craig Roberts.

Finalists for the Peter Thomas this coming Saturday.

20190808 – Cannington Thursday – WA Championships + National Box Draws

REIDY’S RUNNER (Dyna Double One- Buxton Miss) raced into the final of the Crocmedia National Distance with a dominant victory in the WA Distance final. The Christine Bennett trained dog settled just off the pace being set by Incredible Hero before forging to the front and scoring by 9 lengths over Back On Lava in 41.80. The black dog was having his 50th career start and has won 9 times over the 715 metres with a PB of 41.66 set in April this year.

PREMIUM SHARE (Kinloch Brae- Shared Equity) showed speed from box 5 and was able to find the lead entering the back straight before racing clear to win the Crocmedia WA Sprint final by 3 lengths over Starlight Yoyo in 29.66. The Chris Halse trained dog has won his past starts and has a PB of 29.56 set in May when winning the Gr 2 WA Derby. Having just his 22nd career start, the WA bred dog will represent WA in the Crocmedia National Sprint final on August 24. Pictured : Premium Share
