20220423 – Cannington Saturday – The Miata Final & Sprinters Plate Heats

Box Greyhound Trainer

HINTO (Zipping Garth- ReKall Kelsos) looked impressive as he raced clear going out of the back straight and to a 7 1/2 length Maiden victory over Winnie Woo Woo in 29.99. The Christine Robartson trained youngster had finished second at his only two race starts prior to his demolishing.

BLAZIN’ LASS (Worm Burner- Bells Are Ringin) crossed from box 8 and recorded her second win in the week with a come from behind 3/4 length victory over West On Bronte in 30.22. The win came an hour after trainer Adam Smithson had won with Perth Cup winner Vice Grip in a qualifying heat of the Million Dollar Chase in Sydney at Wentworth Park.

GRANITE SONG (Aston Dee Bee- Juniper Twedo) was able to hold the lead from box 3 and although challenged by Rippin’ Tomahawk, the black dog was able to dig deep and score by a length in 29.96. The John Carmody trained dog ended a losing sequence of 7 and recorded his 8th win from 29 starts.

20220409 – Cannington Saturday – Lew Dorsa Memorial Trophy

LEKTRA SARAH (Zambora Brockie- Lektra Viki) showed speed from out wide and crossed the field before tracing clear of Record Me to win by 3 lengths in 22.10. The Ben MacLean trained dog had recently arrived from Victoria and won first up at Cannington for the Roller Coaster racing syndicate.

ELITE MACHINE (Aussie Infrared- Pat’s Lass) also showed speed from box 8 and once finding the leading out of the front straight, the brindle youngster raced away to record his second win from 3 career starts. The Justin Wood trained dog won by 1 3/4 lengths over Safari Train in 30.16.

ZIPPING ONTARIO (Superior Panama- Zipping Katelyn) led throughout and recorded his 4th win in a row as he defeated kennel mate and litter sister Zipping Virginia by 1 1 /4 lengths in 41.72. The Paul Stuart trained dog has not been beaten since his first run in WA where he finished third in a heat of the Gr 1 Galaxy behind Mepunga Ruby.

20220219 – Cannington Saturday – Puppy Classic

COMET BAY KATIE (Fernando Bale- Paganoni) led throughout to record her first win for new trainer James Jeffries. The black bitch had won twice from 5 starts before changing ownership. After landing on the arm, she raced away to win by 2 1/4 lengths over Roisin Monelli in 21.96.

MY BOY BAILEY (Fernando Bale- Feelin’ Alright) led from box 7 and caused an upset win when he held out Wooden Hands by a head in 30.35. The Enzo Crudeli trained dog has now won twice from 3 career starts and bounced back to winning form after having no luck in his heat of the Puppy Classic the week before.

WEST ON MAGADA (Bella Infrared- West On Babe) recorded her second win in 28 tries over the 715 metres when she ran down West On Mia to win by a neck in 42.43. The win continued the outstanding run for trainer Damien Crudeli who prepared 5 winners the previous night at Mandurah.

VICE GRIP (Aston Dee Bee- Bells Are Ringin) led throughout and held off Serong by a neck in 29.72 in his return too racing. The Adam Smithson trained chaser hadn’t started since finishing unplaced in the rich Phoenix final in Melbourne in December. The black dog is being set for the Gr 1 Sky Racing Perth Cup in March.

20220205 – Cannington Saturday – Sandi’s Me Mum Memorial

RILEY HAS IT (Kinda Cruel Red- Mia Brae) led from box 3 and held off all of the challengers as she scored a 1 1/2 length win over Oysters in 22.23. The Kody Charles trained bitch won 4 starts back in 22.05 from a similar draw and then was placed last start behind the inform Wise Dohne.

JIMMY ROCKS (Bit Chilli- Amy Monelli) crossed from box 8 and led throughout defeating the odds on favourite West On Finn by 3 lengths in 30.03. The Justin Wood trained dog has now won at his past two starts and 3 of 8 in his short career.

TORZA (Fernando Bale- Little Charlie) recorded just her second win at Cannington from 16 starts after she held out the favourite Granite Song going into the first corner. The Lewis Clay trained bitch then extended and recorded a winning margin of 5 3/4 lengths in 29.89.

MARLOU MISS (Lochinvar Marlow- Jazzy Lou) held out Bones McCoy going along the back straight and then drew away in the straight to win by 2 1/4 lengths in 21.96. The win gave trainer Justin Wood an early winning double.

20211212 Cannington Saturday – Anniversary Cup

LITTLE MISS AVA (My Redeemer- Defy All Odds) recorded her Maiden win when she raced past the leader Smooth Move down the back straight before winning by 3 lengths in 30.43. The Enzo Crudeli trained bitch had little luck on debut when finishing fifth behind Watanabe 4 weeks before.

LOVE AND DANGER (Orson Allen- Starlight Acacia) showed race smarts as he railed underneath the leaders coming to the home corner and scoring on debut at the track by 1 1/4 lengths over Hecton’s Boy in 30.39. The Eric Campana trained dog recorded his Maiden win on debut over the 405 metres before running second behind General Cattana in the maiden final the week later.

WEST ON CIDER (West On Augie- West On Maisie) raced clear of his rivals down the back straight before winning by 7 1/4 lengths over Foxtrot Monelli in 29.85. The Chris Halse trained youngster doesn’t turn two years of age until February and looks a very promising type.

MAJOR SACRIFICE (Fernando Bale- Tatty Fields) led throughout over the 715  metres defeating his kennel mate Jayville Slick by 3/4 length in 42.01. The Krystal Shinners trained dog has now won his last two over the distance after finding it his own way in front.
