He clocked 41.91 and has now won 3 of 4 over the long journey. Clifton Cruz finished second and another four lengths away third was Sher Zany. King Tommy is raced by Justin Warwick and Chris Halse and the victory gave the duo a double after they took out the opening maiden with King Tommy’s full sister Blue Passion. Later in the evening the Corey White trained Dandalup Blazer took out the Peter Thomas Final, winning by a nose over Beach Ridge.

20180825 – Cannington Saturday

“Resting Toucher goes to another level over 380m”

Resting Toucher is a vastly improved chaser in the care of Casuarina based trainer Steve Withers. The light brindle son of American sire KC And All won impressively last week from box five in a slick 21.89, defeating the strongly fancied Bushman’s Valley by three lengths. Tonight he was well commissioned from box one and didn’t let his backers down, booting up to hold the lead before charging away to win by seven lengths in a brilliant 21.74. Nambeelup trainer Enzo Crudeli provided both minor place getters at long odds with Akachi (2nd) returning $6.90 a place and Whisper Quick (3rd) paying $11.20 a place. Despite odds-on favourite Resting Toucher winning, the Trifecta dividend was a juicy $326.00 with the WA TAB. Resting Toucher looks set to earn plenty of stakes with his reliable box manners and sheer will to lead/win.
