20211120 – Cannington Saturday

ESPERANCE KING (Mepunga Blazer- Times Square) was too good for his rivals on debut for trainer Chris Halse winning by 2 lengths over Mustang Max in 30.09. The black and white dog is owned by a group of jockeys including Chris Parnham who rode three winners at Ascot earlier in the day on the opening of the Tabtouch Masters.

RIPPIN’ WILLY (Fernando Bale- Rippin Rose) held up from his inside draw and defeated Bones McCoy by a neck in 22.02. The Shayne Williams trained dog ended a losing sequence of 10 in saluting and followed Williams Chaser Unsee This do an exhibition trial in 29.58 in preparation for theDogsWA Phoenix final next Saturday.

SPECIAL GUNN (Fernando Bale- Nanna Gunn) led throughout over the 520 metres and recorded her second career win at her 9th start. The Greg Horne trained bitch recorded a PB 29.96 win over Exhilarate who missed the start and did so well to get within 2 lengths of the winner.

20211023 – Cannington Saturday – All Stars Sprint

VICE GRIP (Aston Dee Bee- Bells Are Ringin) scored a top win in the Gr 2 Greyhounds WA All Stars Sprint running over the top of Momentum and Brazil Monelli to win by a length in 29.90. The Gr 2 win was the biggest in the short career of trainer Adam Smithson and the dogs 4th from 6 starts at Cannington. The $40,000 first prize took the black dogs prize money past the $100,000 in total stakes. The first two place getters also picked up a ticket to the Dogs WA Phoenix qualifier.

SUNSET WHISTLER (Mogambo- Sunset Jessie) led from box 2 and proved too good for his rivals scoring by 2 lengths over Watch Me Sizzle in 29.99. The David Hobby trained youngster will now be set for the Gr 3 Young Stars heats coming up next Saturday.

GLOBAL TRADER (Aston Dee Bee- Belron Bonnie) started the night off in winning style for trainer Cosi Dagostino scoring by 4 1/4 lengths over Escapology in a PB 21.60. The black dog is a half brother to Momentum, the pre post favourite for the Gr 2 Greyhounds WA All Stars Sprint.

WE THE PEOPLE (Peter Rocket- Steffi’s Lara) charged home to claim the leader and race favourite Unsee This on straightening into the home straight. The Sean Kavanagh trained bitch has now won 4 times from 7 starts over the 520 metres even though she is regarded as a better middle distance.

20210710 – Cannington Saturday – The WestCha$e

SERONG (Fernando Bale- Starlight Shine) recorded his biggest win at just his 10th career start when he led throughout from box 2 and took out the Listed The Westchase final. The Paul Stuart trained youngster drove through underneath of Got The Sugar on the first corner and held on to win by a length in a new race record time of 29.59. The win saw Stuart win both feature over the weekend as he also trained Rostered Off to win the Mandurah Middle Distance final the night before.

WESTDALE HAILEE (Tureaud- Bluey’s Fate) caused an upset win in the opening race defeating the well supported favourite Einsteinium by a head in 21.78. The Joe Dailly trained bitch had been racing consistently without in winning finishing in the placings at 3 of her last 4 starts prior to her recording her 9th career win.

WEST ON BRAE (Kinloch Brae- High Recall) led throughout to defeat kennel mate West On Grit by 3 1/2 lengths in 29.85. The talented youngster has now won 11 of 19 career starts and returned to the winners list after a luckless run behind Manzu in his heat of the West Chase the week before.

JIMMY’S DECISION (My Redeemer- Moonshine Mandy) bounced back into the winners list as he ran down the leader Canya Moonshine and went on to win by 4 1/4 lengths in 30.01. The Jai Jormanainen- Davis trained dog had been knocking on the door being placed at 2 of his past 3 starts.

20210626 – Cannington Saturday – Paradise Street Trophy

STOUT MONELLI (Barcia Bale- Corona Monelli) gave David Hobby his first win in the Gr 3 Greyhounds WA Paradise Street Trophy final with a dominant 5 length win over kennel mates Chimera, Redcap and Lashes Monelli who filled the first 4 placings. The black dog had to overcome box 8 again after being quickest qualifier in his heat from the same draw. Once he crossed, soon after entering the front straight the fist time around, Stout Monelli raced clear stopping the clock at 34.63.

MAXIMUM DEMAND (Vanderworp- Dubliner) showed speed and quickly raced past Bad Boy Jack to score a 2 1/4 length Maiden win at his 17th career outing. The Enzo Crudeli trained dog clocked a PB 30.26.

TURBO FUN (Fernando Bale- Queen Of Fun) returned to the winners list by recording his first win over the 380 metres scoring by 3 lengths over Pop Rock in 21.60. The Lexia Isaac trained dog has won 18 times at Mandurah, however his win tonight was only his second at Head Quarters.

SUPER ZOOM JAKE (Fernando Bale- Mumma Josie) showed speed from his inside draw and led throughout scoring by a half length over Stargazer in 30.21. The former Victorian chaser joined Damien Crudeli’s kennel in late May and has won twice from 4 starts since arriving.

20210612 – Cannington Saturday – Winter Cup

WEST ON SOHO (Mepunga Blazer- West On Lola) showed speed from box 6 and was able to cross the field and race clear going down the back straight. The Chris Halse trained youngster was ultra impressive as she raced away for her first win at Headquarters scoring by 6 lengths over Bella Sunset in 30.20.

BAREFOOT TYCOON (Fernando Bale- Velucci) had to overcome a severe check going into the first corner before rallying to defeat his rivals and score his first win over the 600 metres. The Enzo Crudeli trained dog scored by a length over Historic Time in a PB 35.00.

FENANDO STAR (Fernando Bale- Star Recall) held up from box 1 and with Kennel mate Our Seabrook finding trouble, he was able to score by a length over Shades Of Blade in 30.06. The Chris Halse trained dog has now won 19 of 63 starts and over $140,000 in stakes.

MYRTLE MONELLI ((Helton Bale- Petunia Monelli) recorded her first win at Cannington after beginning quickly from box 7. Once she found the back down the back straight, the David Hobby trained bitch proved too good for her rivals defeating Up And About by 3 1/2 lengths in a PB 29.97.
