20220512 – Mandurah Thursday

“Vegas Rules leads throughout for Karl Jovanovic”

Fast breaker Vegas Rules continued his love affair with the 302m distance tonight when he led throughout in the A1 Salvage and Hardware Grade 4. He speared across at 10/1 and went on to win in tidy fashion by four lengths in a smart time of 17.22. He has now won 9 of 33 over the short distance and the win gave Uduc based trainer Karl Jovanovic his second success of the night after Kingsbrae Madam won earlier in 17.38.

HOUNDS TO FOLLOW :

Race 1 Number 4 BECAUSE OF YOU : Made up many lengths to finish over the top and win in 23.17.

Race 2 Number 8 DIDO BELLE : Wanted the fence and ran a nice second, hard to beat next start especially from an inside draw.

20220510 – Mandurah Tuesday

“Napoleon Dynamo rails to a very impressive Novice victory”

Talented young sprinter Napoleon Dynamo defeated a nice field in tonight’s BETNFT.RUN Novice over 405m for Southern River based trainer Pete Brown. His kennelmate Jolie Export flew to an early lead but wobbled wide at the top of the home straight. Napoleon Dynamo zoomed through to win in fine style and posted a fast new PB of 22.77. The Jamie Marsh prepared Snorkers battled on for a strong second and looks to be on the verge of returning to the winner’s list. Initial leader Jolie Export was a head away in third position after recording a slick 6.65 first sectional. The victory took his career statistics to 3 wins, 5 seconds and 5 thirds from 26 career outings.

Race 2 Number 2 STELLA GUNDI : Made up many lengths after being shuffled back early.

Race 3 Number 7 BUNDEGI : Showed terrific mid-race muster wide on the track to run a gallant second.

20220506 – Mandurah Friday

“Damien Crudeli conquers Mandurah Oaks with West On Sadie”

Late bloomer West On Sadie had only managed one victory after twenty career starts but has improved sharply at recent starts. She caught the eye with a fast finishing third in her Oaks Heat before powering home to win tonight’s $30,000 Final in 27.66. The nicely bred daughter of West On Augie settled in third position before reeling in both Dannni’s Gem and Alaska’s Girl. She is raced by Gary Weston, Craig Weston, Chris Halse and Linda Britton and trained out of Nambeelup by Damien Crudeli. The way she finished over 490m suggests she has a big future over longer distances.

Race 3 Number 1 IMPACT MAC : Gave plenty of cheek against elite opposition.

Race 4 Number 6 REALLY SIRIUS : Showed blistering early zip before winning in 27.74.

“Fiddly leads all the way over 302m”

Seasoned short-courser Fiddly overcame box six to win tonight’s the Check Out BETNFT.RUN Grade 6 over 302m. She had been unplaced at her previous 5 starts but was able to lead throughout tonight after a wonderful jump. She zoomed across the face of the field and held on to win by a neck over the eye-catching Saint Ruby and a head away third was Flash As One. Fiddly has now had 77 starts for 8 wins, 16 seconds and 12 thirds.

Race 2 Number 5 SAINT RUBY : Caught the eye with a fast finishing second.

Race 4 Number 1 OH YEAH ALRIGHT : Opened his WA account with an all the way 405m win in 22.81.

“Sugar Ray Gala leads all the way for Christine Bennett”

Honest sprinter Sugar Ray Gala appreciated a clear passage tonight when he soared to an early lead before winning by a length in 22.81. The son of Mepunga Blazer had encountered interference at his last couple before finishing a long way back. He had won three starts ago over 490m in a handy time of 28.08 and defeated the smart Risky Chick by six lengths. Tonight he held off the Phil Worthington trained Truss and a further three lengths away third was He’s My Mac. Sugar Ray Gala has now won 4 of 28 and will always be hard to beat when he doesn’t get squeezed out at box rise.

Trial 2 Number 3 MIDNIGHT SHINE : Led throughout over 405m in an amazing 22.54 for Krystal Shinners.

Race 1 Number 4 INCREDIBLE AURA : Stormed home to grab second and looks to be building up to a win.
