“Oriental Runner cashes in on box one”

Speedy chaser Oriental Runner handled the rise to 490m tonight, leading throughout from pole position in a handy 27.99. The Enzo Crudeli prepared chaser had been racing well over shorter distances without winning and looked ideally placed to find the front and get his chance tonight. However after winning just one of his first 37 starts he was still sent out at $7.00 with the WA TAB. As expected he fired straight to the front with kennel-mate Winging It surging across from box seven to settle in second position. Turning for home the pair looked set for a close finish but Oriental Runner found enough energy to hang on and win narrowly. He clocked a fair 27.99 over the 490m distance and handed his connections the Ten Eighty Syndicate a second triumph. Finishing third and four lengths away was the former Victorian Go Lyla for Nambeelup trainer Shayne Williams. Enzo Crudeli has enjoyed another bumper year so far producing 111 wins, 133 seconds and 193 thirds.

Race 2 Number 4 WESTDALE ARIES : Hit the line strongly to run second and will strip fitter second up.

Race 4 Number 6 TORZA : Overcame the awkward draw of box six to rail to victory in a fast 22.64.

20201013 – Tuesday Mandurah

“Dandalup Jett wins maiden final”

Promising youngster Dandalup Jett has improved sharply since switching from Cannington to Mandurah last Tuesday. After being placed in 2 of 5 at the city circuit Dandalup Jett took out his 405m maiden heat from box 8 in a smart 22.80. He followed up with a brilliant win in the final tonight, carving out a fast 6.49 to the first turn before clocking a magnificent 22.59. The David Hobby trained Sunset Wildfire ran on nicely for second ahead of the winner’s full sister Dandalup Lizzy who was third. Dandalup Jett looks set to win plenty of races for owners B and C Moir with those sectionals. He is prepared out of Nambeelup by Tania Thomas.

HOUNDS TO FOLLOW :

Trial 3 Number 1 VOLUTE : Sustained momentum from the back of the field to win nicely in 27.97.

Race 2 Number 1 WESTDALE NIKITA : Showed terrific strength late to score by half a head in 22.90.

20201009 – Mandurah Friday

MORE DEDUCTIONS (Fernando Bale- Sweet It Is) gave trainer Paul Stuart his second win in the Gr 3 Mandurah Cup after holding the lead from box 1 and going on to score by 1 1/2 lengths in 27.43. Stuart won the feature with Astrozone in 2017. The black dog began well and with the second favourite Star Book tumbling soon after the start, the race was in the black dogs keeping along way out. The well bred chaser has now won 11 times from 25 career starts and with a further 8 placings, he has now won in excess of $65,000.

NO TAX (Spring Gun- Spare Cash) was able to work across from box 6 and score a 4 1/2 length win over Bonbie Mariah in a PB 22.57. The Glen Price trained youngster has now won 3 times and has been placed second twice from 7 career starts.

IMPACT MAC (Rippin’ Sam- Illusive Dreamer) scored a convincing 5 1/4 length Maiden win over Chevy Duke in 22.95. The Kylie McLennan trained dog doesn’t turn two years of age until February next year and broke through after two minor placings from his first 3 career starts.
