Big name winners since include Dazzling Dolly (1999), Barelen Wish (2001), Bolshie’s Baby (2007), Uno Reltub (2011) and Stratosphere (2017). The Enzo Crudeli trained Nice Garry was sent out as a $1.60 favourite from box one tonight and after beginning well was able to hold out a few early challenges for the lead. As the field straightened down the back Nice Garry was met with flurry of mid race bursts, Sieben Monelli (box 6) leveled up to him while Petria Monelli (box 8) swept up out wider. Sieben Monelli then out-paced Nice Garry and charged away for David Hobby, winning by four lengths in 27.50. Infrared Moment catapulted home along the fence from a rearward position to snatch second for Sarah Appleton and Nice Garry ended up in third spot. Sieben Monelli has only just turned two years old and has now started 14 times for 5 wins and 7 minor placings.
