20201017 – Cannington Saturday – All Stars Sprint Heats

RACING PULSE (My Bro Fabio- Polly’s Girl) scored a 3 1/4 length win in 21.96 after crossing from box 7. The win continued the winning week for Michael Hine who also coached a winning premiership side in the local football league last weekend. The black dog is raced by The Meadows chairman Edwin Caruana and a syndicate of owners.

VARIATION (Fernando Bale- Uno Arjo) ran down the favourite Mild Marcus in the home straight to win by a half length in 30.14. The Krystal Shinners trained dog had been racing without luck and recorded his 3rd win in 13 starts in scoring.

FLAKE MONELLI (Fernando Bale- Dyna Sandy) went within a half length of Tornado Tears track record with an all the way victory scoring by 6 lengths over Jayville Slick in 41.29. The David Hobby trained bitch was having her 50th career start and she has now won 29 times, 18 of them this season at Cannington.

20201003 – Cannington Saturday – Distance Potential Heats

“Rambo’s Boy wins Distance Potential Heat for Enzo”

Promising youngster Rambo’s Boy drew awkwardly tonight in the first heat of the Distance Potential series (600m). From box five he began moderately before accelerating through the first turn and finding the lead. Former Queenslander Winlock Power couldn’t match the son of Kinloch Brae in the middle stages and was unable to make ground in the home straight. Rambo’s Boy cruised to the line, winning in a smart 35.00 given it was his debut over the distance. Winlock Power held second position ahead of the fast finishing Zipping Vegas who whizzed home for Serpentine trainer Dwayne Jovanovic. Race favourite West On Roger began only fairly before being squeezed out on entering the home straight on the first occasion. Rambo’s Boy now boasts the impeccable career record of 22 starts for 7 wins and 12 minor placings. He is owned by the same connections as the Perth Cup winning Equanimity, owned by Robbie Brankstone and trained by Enzo Crudeli. Twenty minutes later Rambo’s Boy’s full brother Historic Time took out the second heat. Both have drawn awkwardly for next Saturday’s Final.

Race 2 Number 4 SHIRAKABA : Motored home to win after her usual slow getaway and shows staying potential.

Race 3 Number 5 RIPPIN’ CROW : Cashed in on some trouble at the front of the field to win but was rushing into the contest regardless, is racing very well.

20200919 – Cannington Saturday – W.A. Bred Championship Heats

MADAME BOSS (Barcia Bale- Jett Momentum) won first up for new trainer Tim Mullany and in doing so scored her Maiden win in 22.42. The black bitch defeated Polly Gray by 1 1/2 lengths after over coming a bump on the home corner.

OWL JAI (Tureaud- Mandy Charm) led throughout over the 520 metres and scored by 3/4 length over race favourite Variation in 30.28. The Joe Dailly trained dog caused the upset and has now won twice from 4 career starts.

WINSOME MIA (Dyna Double One- Winsome Amanda) led from box 7 and was not headed as she recorded her 15ty career win from 60 starts. The Barry McPherson trained bitch went back to back after recording a strong victory in 21.87 on a drier track earlier in the month.

FLAKE MONELLI (Fernando Bale- Dyna Sandy) recorded her 8th consecutive win when she dropped back to the 520 metres for the first time this year and put her rivals too the sword. The David Hobby trained bitch won by 8 lengths in 30.02 and has now recorded 26 wins from 46 career outings.

20200905 – Cannington Saturday – Spring Gift Heats

TOMMY SHELBY (Fernando Bale- Serena Fly High) made it 4 wins in a row with an all the way win in the opening heat of the Spring Gift. The Steve Withers trained star clocked a PB 29.51 as he defeated his rivals headed by More Deductions by 4 lengths.

KISS ME LINDA (Kinloch Brae- West On Bluebird) caused an upset in the second heat of the Spring Gift defeating Star Book by a half length in 29.93. Pictured : Kiss Me Linda

SUDOKU FERRARI (Barcia Bale- Scissor Queen) was well supported on debut after some impressive trials for trainer Terry Erenshaw and he didn’t let his supporters down. Leading from box 8, the fawn dog raced away for a 4 length Maiden win over Think Big Moment in 22.11.

REGAL TWIST (Where’s Pedro- Twist me Over) showed speed from out wide and was too good for her rivals scoring by 7 lengths over Chimera Monelli in 29.94. The Steve Withers trained bitch showed speed recently at her second start at Cannington before being run down by Up And About. The black bitch has now won 16 times from 46 career outings.

HASTIE GUESS (Barcia Bale- Te Amo) also led from box 7 and scored a convincing 7 length win over Daisy Devine in a PB 34.73. The Christine Robartson trained dog has now won twice from his past 3 runs over the 600 metres.

20200822 – Cannington Saturday – The Peter Thomas Heats

SUNSET SPITFIRE (Mepunga Blazer- Sunset Jessie) stayed undefeated when he led throughout from box 2 clocking a winners time of 29.61. After clocking a slick 5.39 first split, the big black dog powered away to defeat litter mate Sunset Hellfire by 4 lengths. The David Hobby trained youngster has recorded the third quickest time at Cannington behind Campini and Catch the Thief twice with a 29.45 to his name.

MAGICAL FUN (Fernando Bale- Queen Of Fun) had to dig deep before recording her 8th career win. The Lexia Isaac trained bitch started an odds on favourite and led early from box 1 before being headed by Ebby Rapper. The black bitch peeled off her heals coming around the home corner before winning by 3/4 length in 22.05.

VAN BUREN (Bella Infrared- Benita Bale) ran home strongly to hit the front in the home straight and hold out kennel mate Hairpin Trigger in the run to the line scoring by 1 1/4 lengths in 34.74. The Jamie Marsh trained dog had been racing without luck in recent starts after showing his ability over the 600 metres in May with a 34.71 winning run.
