#4 SIMON TOLD HELEN (Barcia Bale- Who Told Lindylu) overcame an awkward start to push through the gap and race into the first corner with Werewolf Monelli in the opening heat of the Gr 1 Sky Racing Perth Cup. The David Burnett trained star then dropped into another gear and shot to the front down the back straight before going onto win by 1 1/4 lengths in 29.74.

#3 BUSTER THE BRUTE (Collision- Buckette) caused an upset in the second heat when he recorded his first win at Cannington in a heat of the Gr 1 Sky Racing Perth Cup. The Krystal Shinners trained black dog led from box 3 and then held off Dyna Dean by a neck in 29.89. Favourite Campini found trouble throughout and finished third.

#8 VENUS AND MARS (Kinloch Brae- West On Delly) caused the second upset in the heats when he chased down the leader and short priced favourite Tommy Shelby who was returning from injury. The Chris Halse trained bitch claimed the leader on the line to win by a half head over Redcap Monelli with Tommy Shelby a head further back in third place. the winners time was 29.93.

20200307R04 – MERMAID MONELLI

#6 MERMAID MONELLI (Fernando Bale- Sahannah Monelli) led from box 6 in the 4th heat of the Sky Racing Perth Cup and then held off kennel mate and race favourite Zack Monelli to win by a neck in 29.85. The David Hobby trained bitch has now won 10 times from just 16 career starts and is only just turning two years of age this month.

20200307R05 – BANJO’S GIRL

#4 BANJO’S GIRL (Banjo Boy- Beyond Resolve) continued the rough results in the heats of the Sky Racing Perth Cup with a 4 1/2 length win over Naughty Gunn in a PB 29.80. Recently transferred into the care of Michael Johnston, the black bitch recorded her second win over the distance from 13 starts.

#4 KISS ME LINDA (Kinloch Brae- West On Bluebird) raced into the Perth Cup final with an all the win in 29.74 for trainer Chris Halse. The black bitch made last years Perth Cup final as a young pup and has since strengthened into a FFA performer. The win over Eighty Eight took her stake earnings to $106,000.

Werewolf Monelli and Zack Monelli also qualified for the final being the two quickest seconds.

#4 GRACE ALI (My Bro Fabio- Born Ali) after being headed going down the back straight was able to lift in the home straight and win the opening heat of the Gr 1 Sky Racing Galaxy. The Chris Halse trained bitch has been building as a stayer with her mother winning the Galaxy final in 2014. Race favourite Here’s Tears was never in contention and looked lost at his first look at the track.

20200307R08 – BLUE SUMMER SKY

#4 BLUE SUMMER SKY (Barcia Bale- Chica Destacada) led throughout to win the second heat of the Sky Racing Galaxy defeating Laptop Wizard in 42.22. The Paul Stuart trained dog is undefeated in 4 starts since coming across from NSW, with 3 of those wins at Cannington over the 715 metres.

#8 FLAKE MONELLI (Fernando Bale- Dyna Sandy) recorded her first win over the 715 metres with a dashing display in the final heat of the Sky Racing Galaxy. The David Hobby trained bitch was the quickest of the heat wins winning by 4 3/4 lengths in 41.61 over Here’s Tears.

ORSON ALLEN (KC And All- Desalle Bale) recorded his first Gr 1 win in the Sky Racing Perth Cup final with an all the way victory after crossing from box 7. The Corey Grenfell trained dog was the quickest qualifying in his heat clocking 29.32, a half length outside of the track record. Tonight he stopped the clock at 29.62 defeating Hecton Bale by 2 3/4 lengths with Dyna Patty back in third place ahead of Campini. The win took the fawn dogs stakes to in excess of $473,000 after recent wins in the Horsham and Cranbourne Cups.

ROCKSTAR PATRIOT (Fernando Bale- Glory Of Love) caused a major boil over in the Gr 1 final of the Sky Racing Galaxy after defeating Tornado Tears by 2 lengths in 42.00. The Paul Stuart trained dog was purchased by James Jeffries and Gemma Jovanovic for this race, however gave themselves little chance when Australia’s best stayer Tornado Tears was entered for the series. When Batman was squeezed at the start the race changed complexion and Rockstar Patriot raced to glory. The win was Stuart’s 3rd win in the race after winning it twice with the great Miata.

BENALI (Barcia Bale- Born Ali) recorded back to back wins in the Gr 3 Sky Racing Perth Cup Consolation with an all the victory from box 3. The black dog had little luck in his heat when finishing third behind Campini the week before. In the name of Chris Halse, Benali was sent across to Perth by Robert Britton. Benali won by 4 lengths over Wise Ricciardo in 29.76.
