20181208 – Cannington Saturday

WEST ON AUGIE (Fernando Bale- Te Amo) jumped well from box 6 and led throughout to win the Listed Anniversary Cup final. The Chris Halse trained star had recently returned from Victoria where he finished 4th in the Melbourne Cup behind My Redeemer. He held out kennel mate Chips And Trains by 3 lengths in 29.71. Race favourite Campini was checked early and finished fourth. The win took West On Augie’s stake earning past $302,000.

DYNA ORENTHAL (Kiowa Mon Manny- Desalle Bale) recorded a strong victory at his second run at the track for new trainer Enzo Crudeli. The former Eastern States trained chaser was purchased from owner Paul Wheeler in a package of 10 greyhounds to race in WA. The black dog defeated Twice As Wicked by a neck in 34.99.

MOMENT TO JIVE (Mogambo- Sharon Monelli) returned to the winners list with a barn storming finish along the rails to defeat Poppy Monelli by 1 1/2 lengths in 42.21. The black bitch has now won over $206,000 for owner trainer Sarah Appleton.

STARLIGHT YOYO (Fernando Bale- Starlight Delly) returned from a month on the sidelines to win the FFA by 4 lengths over Lhotse Monelli in a PB 29.86. The Paul Stuart trained bitch has now won 12 times from 17 career starts. After being slowly away and last in the early stages, the black bitch railed down the back straight to find the lead and draw away for the win.

20181201 – Cannington Saturday

NANGAR JILL (Where’s Pedro- Bella’s Fancy) led throughout from box 4 and in doing so recorded trainer Shayne Williams first victory in WA. The former Lure driver, trained greyhounds on the East Coast prior to coming West where he gave up the collar and lead to work for Greyhounds WA. The white and Black bitch had been placed in all 3 Starts since coming across from Victoria. She won by a length from Incredible Hero in a PB 30.04.

TWICE AS WICKED (Dyna Villa- Passionate Eyes) recorded her second win over the 600 metres when she held off the newly purchased Victorian trio trained by Enzo Crudeli. The John Cole trained bitch had not won at her first 9 starts at Cannington before she won over the middle distance in early November. The black bitch won by 2 1/4 lengths in 35.17.

CAMPINI (KC And All- Fantastic Dotty) put paid to a very good field in his first step up to Open Class chasing with an 8 length win over Waterloo Monelli and Dyna Dean in the first heat of the Anniversary Cup. The Paul Stuart trained dog stopped the clock at 29.75 and his only defeat came when finding trouble in a heat of the Gr 3 Young Stars.

BUNDLES GALORE (Dyna Nalin- Saving Bundles) ran home late to claim the leader and former undefeated West On Holly on the line. The Linda Smithson trained dog has now won 3 of his past 4 starts and scored in 29.98.

20180917 – Northam Monday

WINLOCK BANKING (Banjo Boy- Glitzy Bling) scored an all the way win in a new PB 29.71 in the opening heat of the Northam Anniversary Cup. The James Jeffries trained dog had won the previous week on debut in 29.81, however today he jumped straight to the front and then careered away to win by 10 lengths over the fast finishing Egyptian Pirate.

BUSHMAN’S LUCK (Superman- My Asuncion) overcame the trouble on the first corner and swept to the lead going into the back straight. The Peter Glenny trained dog stopped the clock at 30.14, 5 lengths ahead of Cairnlea Ollie. Glenny won the Anniversary Cup last year with Blackwood Burst successful.

ALL THE RAVE (High Earner- West On Raven) led throughout in the final heat of the Northam Anniversary Cup with a 5 length win over Techno in 29.62. The Tony Scott trained dog is undefeated in 3 starts at the track and has a PB of 29.35 to his name.

20121209 – Cannington Saturday

EQUANIMITY (Barcia Bale- She’s Historic) led throughout to take out the Greyhounds WA Anniversary Cup Final. In what has been a remarkable year for trainer Enzo Crudeli and owner/breeder Robbie Brankstone, the WA bred star has now won the Gr 1 Perth Cup, Gr2 All Stars and Anniversary Cup feature finals. The win in 29.86 was over kennel mates Sassy Ginger and Bundles Galore.

WEST ON CHARLIE (Kelsos Fusileer- High Recall) led throughout and recorded a slick PB 34.68 in scoring by 8 lengths for trainer Chris Halse. The well bred black dog is usually slowly away, however once landing on the arm ran some very good sectionals and went within .2 of a second of Petunia Monelli track record.

TROUPER MONELLI (Fernando Bale- Bingle Monelli) held out the speedy Pepper Fire into the first corner and then drew away for a 2 length win in the FFA over Gold Reserve. The David Hobby trained dog was stepping up in class and didn’t miss a beat as he scored in a time of 29.92.

WEST ON BABE (Barcia Bale-Disco Girl) caused an upset when she led throughout in the first leg of the Quaddie for trainer Chris Halse. The red fawn bitch found the lead early and then was able to hold off an unlucky favourite Eminent Reality who found plenty of trouble after being slowly away.

20171202 – Cannington Saturday

PETUNIA MONELLI (Bella Infrared- Lara Monelli) lowered the Track Record as she returned to WA with a dominant victory over the 715 metres. Having led Fanta Bale in the recent Gr 1 Bold Trease final before finishing unplaced, the David Hobby bitch had to settle in second place early behind kennel mate Ashom Monelli. The black bitch dropped into another gear entering the back straight and stopped the clock at 41.76, lowering Ramifications previous track record time of 41.83.

VICTOR METTI (Djay’s Octane- Giacometti) caused an upset in the opening heat of the Anniversary Cup defeating Sassy Ginger by a head with 1 3/4 lengths to Black Fusileer. The Michael Johnston trained dog had won two starts back in 30.18, however was sent out at over $40 on tote. The fawn dog missed the trouble on the first corner before holding off Sassy Ginger in the run to the line.

EQUANIMITY (Barcia Bale- She’s Historic) led throughout in the second heat of the Anniversary Cup scoring an 8 length win over kennel mate Bundles Galore in 29.85. For trainer Enzo Crudeli and owner/breeder Robbie Brankstone the win gave them a lift after litter brother He’s Historic fell in the previous heat and failed to finish. Luckily he pulled up with only a minor injury and was stood down for 10 days. Equanimity has now won over $265,000 in stakes plus breeders bonuses, with wins in the Gr 1 Perth Cup and Gr 2 All Stars.
