20231202 – Cannington Saturday – Anniversary Cup Heats

LIL BIT WARPED (Vanderworp-Sara Monelli) ran down the leader Imperial Sash and scored a 2 1/2 length win over All About Stone in 30.02. The David Hobby trained youngster has now won 3 times from 13 starts and doesn’t turn two years of age until January.

CRYPTO MONELLI (Fernando Bale- Penny Monelli) was able to land in front of the favourite Couch Surfer early and then held him off to win by 3/4 length in 35.08. The Morgan Turner trained dog recently returned to the track and has won 3 of 4 runs since returning.

WEST ON NUGGET ( Tommy Shelby-West On Violet) recovered from a slow start before racing away from his rivals to win by 4 1/2 lengths in 42.56. The Chris Halse trained dog has now won twice from 3 tries since stepping up to the 715 metres.

KING TOMMY (Tommy Shelby-West On Violet) jumped well and quickly took control of the opening heat of the Anniversary Cup winning by 6 1/4 lengths in 29.76. The Chris Halse trained dog reversed the result of the Mandurah Cup when he defeated Hinto in 29.76.

20230925 – Northam Monday – Anniversary Cup

GO GETTEM BUZZ (Superior Panama-Toodle Lou) raced to the front soon after the start and went on to record his Maiden victory defeating She’s Naughty by 1 1/2 lengths in 17.85. The Ben Abercrombie trained youngster had been unplaced in his first two starts at Cannington prior to his debut run at Northam.

SHINBONER LEVI (Cosmic Chief-Sunset Prada) ended a losing sequence of 19 runs when he recorded his third win at start number 50. The Graeme Hall trained dog had been racing without a lot of luck before racing clear from box rise and scoring a 5 1/4 length win over Dawn Of Time in 17.28.

WILDASH BORIS (Flying Ricciardo-Cashpot) led throughout from box 1 and recorded a 1 1/2 length win over Moment To Shock in 17.49. The Brad Cook trained dog had not won since winning on debut 11 starts earlier, also from box 1.

20221210 – Cannington Saturday – Anniversary Cup

DANNY HEFFERNAN (Barcia Bale-Paganoni) showed speed from the inside draw and led throughout on debut defeating Anasazi Monelli by 5 1/2 lengths in 30.01. The Lewis Clay trained youngster was well supported and his big frame did the rest in an impressive first up effort.

BALLISTIC ANT (Fernando Bale-Bionic Black Ant) enjoyed some luck on the first corner when the two favourites Pancake and Lentil Monelli got tangled up and checked back towards the rear of the field. The Enzo Crudeli trained bitch recorded her second win from 8 starts scoring by a half length over Sunset Louie in a PB 30.17.

PILBARA (Fernando Bale -Shanakee) raced to lead from box 5 and led throughout in the final of the Stayers Series. The Rob Westworth trained stayer has been a model of consistency finishing in the top 3 at 65% of his career. He defeated Superman Keeping by 10 lengths in 41.99 and has now won 21 times in his career and over $200,000 in stakes.

AMPLIFIED (Fernando Bale-Elevated) crossed the field with ease from box 7 before leading throughout in the Greyhounds WA Anniversary Cup final. The Krystal Shinners trained bitch defeated Hinto by 4 1/2 lengths in a new race record of 29.49.

20221203 – Cannington Saturday – Anniversary Cup

TRAVERS MANIA (Fernando Bale-Bionic Black Ant) showed speed from box 5 and was never threatened as he raced away from his rivals defeating Aussie Jake by 9 1/4 lengths in 29.94. The Enzo Crudeli trained youngster was having just his second career start and after enjoying no luck on debut was sent out at the odds of $22 on tote.

ODDBALL KEEPING (Mepunga Blazer-Shelley Keeping) was heavily supported before making his debut in the West and didn’t let his supporters down with a 3 length win over Elite Judan in 21.84. The former Victorian chaser is now in the care of short course specialist trainer Brad Cook.

YAHOO SERIOUS (Worm Burner-Bells Are Ringin) enjoyed his inside draw and railed underneath the leader along the back straight before scoring a 3 1/2 length win over Ben Mayo in 29.87. The Adam Smithson trained chaser has now won 10 times from 49 career starts.

AMPLIFIED (Fernando Bale-Elevated) dominated in the one and only heat of the Anniversay Cup with an all the win defeating Eagle Monelli by 7 1/4 lengths in 29.61. The Krystal Shinners trained chaser has won 8 of 9 starts from box 1 and has now recorded 13 wins at Cannington in her career. She recently returned from Victoria where she finished third behind Yachi Bale in a heat of the Melbourne Cup.

20211212 Cannington Saturday – Anniversary Cup

LITTLE MISS AVA (My Redeemer- Defy All Odds) recorded her Maiden win when she raced past the leader Smooth Move down the back straight before winning by 3 lengths in 30.43. The Enzo Crudeli trained bitch had little luck on debut when finishing fifth behind Watanabe 4 weeks before.

LOVE AND DANGER (Orson Allen- Starlight Acacia) showed race smarts as he railed underneath the leaders coming to the home corner and scoring on debut at the track by 1 1/4 lengths over Hecton’s Boy in 30.39. The Eric Campana trained dog recorded his Maiden win on debut over the 405 metres before running second behind General Cattana in the maiden final the week later.

WEST ON CIDER (West On Augie- West On Maisie) raced clear of his rivals down the back straight before winning by 7 1/4 lengths over Foxtrot Monelli in 29.85. The Chris Halse trained youngster doesn’t turn two years of age until February and looks a very promising type.

MAJOR SACRIFICE (Fernando Bale- Tatty Fields) led throughout over the 715  metres defeating his kennel mate Jayville Slick by 3/4 length in 42.01. The Krystal Shinners trained dog has now won his last two over the distance after finding it his own way in front.

20211204 – CAN Saturday – The Dogs WA Final / Anniversary Cup Hts

FINEST MOMENT (Zipping Garth- Fine Champan) showed early speed and recorded her second career win when she defeated Wooden Hands by 2 1/2 lengths in a PB 21.89. The Eric Campana trained won her maiden two starts back in 22.02 from box 1.

HECTON’S BOY (Hecton Bale- Dubliner) backed up from Wednesday night where he had little luck to score a 6 3/4 length victory over Archipelago Lad in a PB 29.99. The Enzo Crudeli trained dog 5 times since his Maiden win back in September.

EMERLEY NERA (Pantera Nera- Check Yo Self) led throughout and recorded not only a new PB, also his third win in succession. The Joe Dailly trained dog defeated the race favourite Buller Monelli by 2 1/4 lengths in 34.53. the win was his 4th over the 600 metres and his 11th career victory.

VALACHI (Vanderworp- Legit Boss) led throughout in the opening heat of the Anniversary Cup holding out West On Brae going into the first corner and then extending the lead to win by 2 1/4 lengths in 29.82. The Margaret Hepple trained dog recently returned from injury  and has now won at his past two starts.

20201205 – Cannington Saturday – Anniversary Cup

SUNSET SPITFIRE (Mepunga Blazer- Sunset Jessie) set a new race record in the final of the Anniversary Cup with an all the way victory defeating kennel mate Thrift Monelli by 6 1/2 lengths in 29.58. The black dog took a few strides again to get in full swing, however once he did the race was all over in a couple of strides. The win gave David Hobby his first victory in the feature. The black dog is undefeated in 12 career starts and in his short career has already recorded the third quickest time (29.39) at Cannington behind Campini (29.26) and Catch the Thief (29.32) this year.

STOUT MONELLI (Barcia Bale- Corona Monelli) was able to hold up from box 1 and lead throughout as a heavily backed favourite in his Maiden victory. The David Hobby trained dog was beaten odds on favourite the week before behind Cascade Monelli, however was far too good for his rivals scoring by 8 lengths over Got The Swagger in a slick 29.70.

JUST WINS BOSS (Fernando Bale- Uno Arjo) recorded her second win over the 600 metres leading throughout from box 2. The Nat Crook trained bitch held off Redcap Monelli to win by a half length in 34.75. The light brindle bitch has now won 7 times from 19 career starts.

WHAT’S UP MARTY (Demon Bale- Tearsabout Tears) recorded his first win at Cannington at his 7th attempt with a dominant 6 length victory over kennel mate Waratah Miss in a PB 29.93. The Damien Crudeli trained dog messed up the start, however was able to rail through and lead on the first corner.

20191207 – Cannington Saturday – Anniversary Cup

DYNA ORENTHAL (Kiowa Mon Manny- Desalle Bale) caused an upset in the final of the Listed Greyhounds WA Anniversary Cup when he railed through to claim the leader Jade’s Blade and win. The Enzo Crudeli trained dog had won only once in 10 prior starts over the 520 metres at Cannington before tonight’s feature win. The win was also his 20th career win at his 121st start. The victory was also special for the Crudeli family who lost their family member Dean Starkie the day before. Starkie was married to Enzo’s daughter Juanita.

LAPTOP WIZARD (David Bale- Pandora’s Sin) scored a strong win over Barcali for trainer Enzo Crudeli. The brindle dog is undefeated in both starts over the 600 metres. After finding the front going into the back straight, he went on to score by 1 1/2 lengths in 35.10.

JOKER POKER (Barcia Bale- Kerrigan Bale) dug deep after being headed in the straight by Snazzy Whompo to score a neck win in 30.13. the Steve Withers trained dog had been racing in tougher company and has now won twice from 7 starts at Cannington.

GRAN AMOR (Fernando Bale- Te Amo) caused an upset win for trainer Michael Johnston after the $1.30 favourite Reidy’s Runner missed a place. The black bitch has now won 3 times and placed on the other two occasions since stepping up over the 715 metres, however was given little chance of defeating the favourite. She defeated Werner Bale by a length in 42.67.

20191130 – Cannington Saturday – Anniversary Cup Heats

DANICA KEEPING (Barcia Bale- Becky Keeping) led throughout and was strong to the line scoring by a half length over Venus And Mars in 30.19. The recent Gr 3 Young Stars winner is trained by Shayne Williams and has now recorded 12 wins from 32 career starts.

REIDY’S RUNNER (Dyna Double One- Buxton Miss) ran down the leader Gran Amor to record his 13th win over the 715 metres by 5 lengths in 41.97. The Christine Bennett trained black dog pocketed another $6,300 to go to in access of $240,000 in stake earnings.

DYNA OSCAR (Fernando Bale- Unix Bale) jumped perfectly from box 1 and was able to hold out Kiss Me Linda and Jade’s Blade running into the first corner. The Enzo Crudeli trained dog recorded his third win in a row scoring by 6 lengths in the opening heat of the Anniversary Cup.

JERKY BOY (High Earner- West On Raven) was able to cross from box 6 and lead throughout in the second heat of the Anniversary Cup. The Chris Halse trained dog stepped up in class and scored by 2 1/2 lengths over Dandalup Casper in 29.92.

20181208 – Cannington Saturday

WEST ON AUGIE (Fernando Bale- Te Amo) jumped well from box 6 and led throughout to win the Listed Anniversary Cup final. The Chris Halse trained star had recently returned from Victoria where he finished 4th in the Melbourne Cup behind My Redeemer. He held out kennel mate Chips And Trains by 3 lengths in 29.71. Race favourite Campini was checked early and finished fourth. The win took West On Augie’s stake earning past $302,000.

DYNA ORENTHAL (Kiowa Mon Manny- Desalle Bale) recorded a strong victory at his second run at the track for new trainer Enzo Crudeli. The former Eastern States trained chaser was purchased from owner Paul Wheeler in a package of 10 greyhounds to race in WA. The black dog defeated Twice As Wicked by a neck in 34.99.

MOMENT TO JIVE (Mogambo- Sharon Monelli) returned to the winners list with a barn storming finish along the rails to defeat Poppy Monelli by 1 1/2 lengths in 42.21. The black bitch has now won over $206,000 for owner trainer Sarah Appleton.

STARLIGHT YOYO (Fernando Bale- Starlight Delly) returned from a month on the sidelines to win the FFA by 4 lengths over Lhotse Monelli in a PB 29.86. The Paul Stuart trained bitch has now won 12 times from 17 career starts. After being slowly away and last in the early stages, the black bitch railed down the back straight to find the lead and draw away for the win.
