“Found The Brake wins the first race back at new Mandurah”
The new Mandurah greyhound circuit has four new distances, 300m, 400m, 488m and 652m. The opening event this evening was a Country Novice over 300m and the Tim Gummow prepared Found The Brake capitalised on box one. He drove through strongly on the inside of his rivals to hold them out before winning by four lengths in 17.18. Outsider Zen Tokyo battled on well for second and a length away third was Michigan Mia who was first up from Victoria. Favourite Mary Samsonite had excuses after beginning well but then being squeezed out as she attempted to muster. It’s no surprise that box one is again going to be a huge advantage for greyhounds at the Mandurah venue, especially from the 300m where there is less opportunity for overtaking.
HOUNDS TO FOLLOW :
Race 4 Number 7 SUNSET MIRAGE : Could not have been more impressive winning over 488m by eight lengths.
Race 8 Number 6 BUDDY’S MATE : Mustered brilliantly to win over 400m and beat Sunset Blackhawk.
