“Cheetah Magic comes from last to win over 509m”
Noted slow beginner Cheetah Magic took advantage of a saloon inside passage in the middle stages to sweep into contention before winning tonight’s Deb’s Diner Provincial Novice over 509m. The daughter of Fernando Bale had charged home at his three previous starts to be a runner up but was able to go one better tonight. She settled in eighth position at the winning post the first time before railing into second in the back straight. The Michael Rylands trained chaser then reeled in and overtook leader Aussie Singman before winning by three lengths. She snapped a losing sequence of 17 and recorded a handy 30.43. Zac’s Thunder finished strongly to run second and a length away third was the wilting Aussie Singman. Cheetah Magic is a full sister to handy staying type Penny Magic and short-courser Riley Magic.
