“Fontella improves sharply for Phil Worthington”

The first event tonight was won by $23.30 priced chaser Fontella who is trained out of Nambeelup by Phil Worthington. The former Victorian had been unplaced at his seven most recent runs and was justifiably sent out at long odds purely on her numerical form. Race favourite Riley Has It set the pace from box two but was challenged on straightening by Fontella. Fontella breezed to the front and saluted by half a length over Riley Has It and two lengths away third finished Lance Sunrise. Fontella is raced by the Wortho Syndicate and has now started 46 times for 4 wins, 6 seconds and 5 thirds.

HOUNDS TO FOLLOW :

Race 2 Number 3 TIMMY TIMEBOMB : Showed a lot of zip when a nice second on debut over 405m.

Race 3 Number 1 BABY VONSHAE : Zoomed to the front and battled on gamely to run second in a smart time.
