“Sleepy George overcomes a poor getaway to win again”
Well supported young sprinter Sleepy George started $2.00 fixed in tonight’s Essential Aircor Services Mixed 4/5 over 405m. He didn’t begin too well but showed tenacity in the middle stages to take the lead and then score by a length in 22.70. The David Hobby prepared Phantom Monelli motored home for an eye-catching second but was no match for the winner. Westdale Utah finished close up in third for Andrew McLaren after giving away a decent head start at the first turn. Sleepy George is trained out of Herron by Jodie Reichard and has now started 12 times for 5 wins and 3 seconds.
