“Domino Beach relishes box eight”
Wide tracker Domino Beach made full use of box eight to win tonight’s Sign Strategy Country Novice over 302m for Brad Cook. The former Queenslander arrived in WA with a maiden win over 288m at Ipswich when she led throughout from box two. Since racing in WA she has been a very wide runner and has looked more comfortable at Mandurah than Cannington. She won over 302m in late October and clocked a smart 17.40 when a narrow winner over He’s A Hotshot. Tonight she began cleanly from the wide draw, maintained a wide path and sprinted brilliantly in the front straight to score by two lengths in 17.38. Trainer Brad Cook prepared all three placegetters with odds on favourite Holly Keeping the runner up and Izzy Keeping back in third. Domino Beach has now won 3 of 23 and will always be worth considering when drawn wide at the Mandurah circuit.
HOUNDS TO FOLLOW :
Race 1 Number 2 JANICK : Was heavily backed into $1.36 fixed odds and mustered nicely to score in 17.46.
Race 6 Number 6 MAYBE A GUNN : Ran on gallantly to upset the favourite in a solid time.
