20180308 – Mandurah Thursday

“West On Zena bounces back to winning form for Rennick”

Nicely bred youngster West On Zena improved sharply tonight when she flew out of box six and led throughout over 405m. The daughter of High Earner turned two this month but after four unplaced runs looked tested against a handy field. Race favourites Sittella (box 8) missed the kick badly and West On Zena critically was able to cross noted speedster Ping Pong Summer (box 4) in the run to the first turn. She powered away in the middle stages to lead by five lengths and the Harvey based Incredible Bev was doing the chasing. West On Zena continued her momentum in the home straight and scored by six lengths in a new PB of 22.83, a time seven lengths faster than the 23.26 she set back in December. The Fran Farrell trained Incredible Bev held second position three lengths ahead of the Kylie McLennan (Nambeelup) prepared What’s Up Mac. West on Zena is trained by Jim Rennick out of Barragup and has now started 12 times for 3 wins and 3 seconds. Rennick has enjoyed success in the past with the likes of Haka Rhythm, Lyrical Rumble, Pin Rhythm, Rumble Supreme and Mandurah specialist Supreme Ollie.

Race 2 Number 9 MOLLY MONELLI : Resumed with a fast finishing second over 302m and won’t take long to win one this preparation.

Race 5 Number 4 HARD WIRED : Notched his fourth consecutive win and clocked a mighty 27.65 over 490m.
