20171208 – Mandurah Friday

“Cadillac Style surges to unlikely victory for Coldstream”

Veteran chaser Cadillac Style (box 4) produced a mighty performance to win tonight’s Mandurah Mail Masters Final over 405m. The black son of World Title hadn’t tasted victory for fifteen months and this evening was sent out at odds of $37.90 with the WA TAB. Fellow outsider Stolen Dreams (box 5) led the race for Nambeelup trainer Kylie McLennan and looked to be traveling strongly before Cadillac Style ‘revved up’ in the middle stages and took the lead. With fifty metres to go Stolen Dreams rallied again but fell short by half a head, handing rank outsider Cadillac Style a surprise victory. The Greg Martin, Southern River trained Houdini Blue (box 2) was also rough in betting markets and he finished third. Houdini Blue was the oldest dog in the race at five years and two months of age, he was also having his 100th career start. Three outsiders filling the placings triggered some mammoth exotic dividends with the WA TAB, the Trifecta returned $2,766 and the First Four dividend was $9,917. Cadillac Style has now started 126 times for 9 wins, 29 minor placings and more than $28,700 in earnings.

Race 2 Number 4 VELOCITY STAR : Clocked approximately 22.85 over 405m when a gallant second to Patchy Kat.

Race 3 Number 6 TRICKSTER LUMIK : Had no luck from box six but still hit the line hard, worth another chance in the same grade.
