20170728 – Mandurah Friday

“Desert Rampage notches hat-trick of wins at Mandurah”

Talented sprinter Desert Rampage proved last week’s Winter Sprint victory was no fluke when he led throughout to win tonight’s A1 Salvage and Hardware Free For All over 405m. He had the aid of box one at his last couple of runs when successful in the fast times of 22.55 and 22.65. Whilst tonight’s draw of box two looked handy on face value, the fact that the in-form Doc Hudson had box one made winning again a lot tougher. Doc Hudson started favourite tonight and recently bolted in over 405m in 22.50. However at box rise Desert Rampage showed more early speed and desperation. He was able to cross Doc Hudson when the first turn came up and when that occurred Doc Hudson checked off his heels. Desert Rammpage dashed away in the middle stages and while Doc Hudson made late ground Desert Rampage scored by two lengths. The moderate winning time of 22.77 was probably affected by the gusty and wet conditions. Desert Rampage is raced by Russel Guelfi and is trained out of Nambeelup by Chris Halse. He has now started 24 times for 12 wins and over $30,000 in earnings.

Race 4 Number 2 ADELE KEEPING : Mustered like the wind to take the lead before racing away from a handy field in 22.82.

Race 5 Number 1 SILVER REBAH : Versatile chaser with a strong finish who recorded a mighty 27.73 over 490m tonight.
