20170629 – Mandurah Thursday

“Ladon dominates over 302m”

Lake Clifton based greyhound Ladon produced a dazzling performance in tonight’s Mandurah Mail Mixed 5/6 over 302m. Prepared by experienced trainer John Cole (pictured), the son of Kinloch Brae began fairly from box four and was one of a few chasers sharing the initial lead. However it only took him a few strides to balance up and rocket to an outright lead. He dashed away from Hey Bail (box one), Sweet Fesco (box 2) and Cyclone Boy (box 8) who were engaged in a battle for second. Ladon hit the line strongly, winning by just over six lengths in a very slick time of 17.11. That time was well inside of his previous PB of 17.31 recorded late last month. Sweet Fesco snatched second for Tim Mullany, narrowly in advance of the North Yunderup based Cyclone Boy who was resuming from a four month spell. Ladon has now had 31 career starts for 4 wins, 11 minor placings and $9,995 in stake earnings.

Race 1 Number 2 BEAU KEEPING : Produced a bold performance and gave the impression he could handle a rise to 405m too.

Race 4 Number 5 PURE MOTION : Put in a blinder to defeat some handy types over 405m in 22.84.
