20170309 – Mandurah Thursday

Cullquin Rocky leads all the way”

Nambeelup trainer Bill Worthington produced an upset result in tonight’s opening event over 302m. Cullquin Rocky, a 29kg son of Lochinvar Marlow began like a bullet and quickly crossed the inside division to be the leader. From there he powered clear and although race favourite Outa Line flew late, he was able to score by just over a length in the smart time of 17.23. Outa Line continued his long string of minor placings and finished a head in front of the third placed Artaxias. It was a sharp improvement for Cullquin Rocky who had been unplaced at his previous 6 starts over 302m at Mandurah. He is owned by the You See Syndicate and has now started 37 times for 3 wins and 12 minor placings.

Race 1 Number 1 ARTAXIAS : Ran on gamely to be close up in a smart time and will win a Grade 6 very soon.

Race 2 Number 6 LAST LESSON : Began as fast as a greyhound can, and won by four lengths in 17.26.
