20170216 – Mandurah Thursday

“Hurricane Hayley blitzes at 302m debut”

Promising short-courser Hurricane Hayley was ultra impressive in winning tonight’s Free Entry Novice over 302m. The Tania Thomas (North Yunderup) trained chaser found 405m too far at her first three career starts when away brilliantly before tiring to finish out of the placings. Then she was switched to a 275m Maiden event at Cannnington on February 6 where she bolted in and clocked a sizzling 16.11. Tonight she returned to Mandurah over the shorter 302m journey and after a solid getaway won by four lengths in 17.17. Outsider Lil Miss Knocka finished second ahead of former NSW chaser Schmick As. Equipped with great box manners and with all that early pace Hurricane Hayley looks destined to lead and win a lot of races. Pictured : Tania Thomas
