“West On Maisie creates big impression over 490m”

Regally bred young chaser West On Maisie (Barcia Bale x Zelemar Fever) could not have been more impressive tonight when winning by five lengths in the Essential Refrigeration Services Grade 5. She began poorly and found herself in plenty of traffic after fifty metres before letting rip with a sizzling surge to take the lead in the middle stages. The youngster then rocketed clear to post the extraordinary time of 27.44. The Chris Halse prepared bitch turns two in March and has now won 4 of 9 career starts for long time owners Gary and Craig Weston. Later on the Paul Stuart trained Krugerrand toppled that time with a run of 27.28 in the NPB Security Free For All. He will be eyeing off the upcoming Perth Cup Series to be held at Cannington over 520m.
