20161209 – Mandurah Friday

“Lee’s Maggie extends winning sequence”

West Pinjarra based trainer Corey White has enjoyed a great run of success with brilliant young sprinter Lee’s Maggie and it continued in tonight’s Essential Refrigeration Services Grade 5 over 405m. Jumping from box six the daughter of Fabregas exploded three lengths in front before winning effortlessly by seven lengths. The Nambeelup based Kal’s All Heart ran second and two lengths away third was the Southern River based Houdini Blue. Lee’s Maggie is owned by Frank Stanley and tonight’s triumph was her sixth in a row. She has led throughout on each occasion and turns two years of age in January. She has returned $1.30, $1.20 and $1.70 for the win with the WA TAB at her last three appearances and looks set for the elite grades of Mandurah racing.

20161209 Northam Monday

Rock Sister leads throughout at a windy Northam

Heathridge based chaser Rock Sister made full use of box one this afternoon when victorious in the Afternoon In The Valley Grade 5 over 509m. She won at Northam on August 15 when an all the way winner over Zipping Darryl from box five but after meeting with first turn interference at her last couple could only managed a third and a fifth. Today she was clearly best to begin and was able to make every post a winner. Race favourite Acheron missed the kick and after being cramped for room for most of the journey, motored home late but lost by a head. Rock Sister posted a slick 30.15 and has now won 6 of 60 career starts.

HOUNDS TO FOLLOW ;

RACE 3 NUMBER 4 ACHERON : Rocketed home to lose by a head and plenty of excuses.

RACE 6 NUMBER 7 MILLA’S PRIDE : Came from behind to win and looked strong at the finish.
