COSMIC MALTESE (Cosmic Rumble- Maltese Player) gave the Moir family an early owning winning double after having also owned and bred Dandalup Doll. DANDALUP DOLL (Cosmic Rumble- Maltese Player) recorded her first win at the Cannington track when she jumped straight to the front and then held off the late challenge of Toodle Lou. The Terry Erenshaw trained blue bitch won by a 1/2 head in 30.56. She had won 8 times from her first 13 starts at Mandurah prior to two unsuccessful tries at Head Quarters.

BRINKSY’S GIRL (Mogambo- Sweet Blitz) was very strong at her first try over the 600 metres at Cannington, coming from behind the leader Aristotle Bale to score by a length in 35.66 in the first heat of the Distance Potential. The Greg Martin trained bitch had won over the 647 metres at Mandurah at her previous start. The short priced race favourite Caprice Monelli was slowly away and ran home well to finish third.

TEDDY MONELLI (Mogambo- Jackie Bale) jumped brilliantly from box 1 and led throughout over the 600 metres in the second heat of the Distance Potential. The young pup who has yet to turn two years of age, set some sensational sectionals clocking 9.66 first split, 18.28 and then 23.07 to be in track record time going off the back straight. The David Hobby trained black dog tired over the concluding stages on a wet track and stopped the clock at 35.02.
