20161028 – Mandurah Friday

Enchancia wins heat of The Chase

“The Chase” is a 405m feature race held at Mandurah that was first run in 1980 when Nifty Patches scored over 530m on the old Kanyana Park circuit. Noteable winners include Crown Swinger (1989), Kanoala (1994), Car Park Keith (1997), Shadown Puppet (2005), Special Pup (2013) and Magnifico (2015). Speed machine Enchancia looked rejuvenated tonight on the back of three successive Cannington victories over 380m. The daughter of Magic Sprite clearly gained lots of confidence from the wins and tonight returned to Mandurah where she was able to lead throughout against quality opposition. Former Victorian Fantastic Hulk loomed as a threat but could not reel in Enchancia who found the line strongly to win by a neck. Midnight Jake finished close up in third position. Enchancia has now won 10 of 30 career starts and has been a minor place getter on another 9 occasions. She will be joined in the final by litter mates and kennel mates Hello I’m Leo and Quedos. The trio are prepared out of Southern River by Ben MacLean but winning won’t be easy given the class of opposition.
