20161015 – Cannington Saturday

TEDDY MONELLI (Mogambo- Jackie Bale) broke the 600 metre track record with his brilliant win in the final of the WA Distance Potential. The David Hobby trained youngster, who turns two years of age in December, was brilliant from the start clocking a first sectional 9.59 before lowering the third sectional split in clocking 22.89. Turning into the front straight he continued his dominance and was stronger as he raced clear to win by 10 lengths over kennel mate Caprice Monelli in 34.59.

MAX PROFIT (Fabregas- Belron Cedar) recorded his sixth successive win with an all the way debut win over the 520 metres. The Corey White trained youngster was defeated on debut and unbeaten since over the shorter distances. The black dog won by a neck from the fast finishing Stray Arc in 30.41.

BARON IMPACT ( Collide- Most Noble) caused an upset win when he led throughout from box 6. The Pete Brown trained dog was having just his second start at Cannington and he defeated Topology by 2 lengths in 30.38. At his previous start he ran a game third behind Who’s Got Blue in a heat of the Gr 3 Mandurah Cup.

Race 3 No 8 Times Square. Returned to Cannington with a smart win from box 8 in 30.19.

Race 4 No 3 Gold Reserve. Recently returned from injury and racing out of his grade when finishing third in FTA company behind the inform Penny Monelli.
