“Mulwee Grand upsets Astrophysic”

It’s not easy to dominate greyhound racing at any level. At the end of the day canines chase a fluffy lure around a race track and there are many factors that ultimately decide the order the dogs finish in. Last Friday Astrophysic won his 50th race from just 66 career starts, a feat that is rarely achieved in the frantic science of greyhound racing. This evening the champ was sent out as an odds on favourite ($1.40) from box 8. He began swiftly but a lightly raced chaser by the name of Mulwee Grand had also begun with alacrity. Mulwee Grand beat Astrophysic to the first turn before dashing away and scoring by three lengths. He recorded a sizzling 22.34 for South Yunderup trainer Christine Robartson and Astrophysic was left in the unfamiliar role of runner up. Mulwee Grand took his win tally to eleven and hopefully the pair lock horns again next Friday night where Astrophysic will be expected to turn the tables.

HOUNDS TO FOLLOW :

RACE 1 NUMBER 3 KANTEGA : Struck severe trouble but still managed to hit the line hard and finish just behind the placegetters.

RACE 3 NUMBER 3 LIVING PROOF : Rocketed home over the shorter trip and looks ready to recapture winning form.
