“Krugerrand runs an enormous race over 490m”

WA’s most promising greyhound Krugerrand stepped up his sprinting credentials tonight when he recovered from a poor getaway to reel in Bold Intention in a brilliant 27.13. The well bred son of Collision clocked a time that is less than a length outside of the current track record held by Back Jack Tewin (27.57). Owned and trained by the Nambeelup based Paul Stuart, he took his win tally to 11 from just 16 starts. Early in his career his box manners were an issue but he has tidied that part of his racing up lately and on March 23 led throughout at Cannington over 520m in 29.83. With the Perth Cup Series approaching next week, and the interstate raiders beginning to file in for the heats, expect Krugerrand to make his presence felt for the locals, especially from an inside draw.
