20151016 Mandurah Friday

DUBLINER was impressive when tackling the 647m journey for the first time in his short career. He stopped the clock at 36.92secs beating the classy Blinker’s On. (Dubliner is pictured with Emily Frazer and Tayla Rollings)

“Alf Monelli capitalises on box one
Consistent sprinter Alf Monelli had no problems accounting for his rivals in tonight’s opening event, the $35 Friday Buffet Grade 5. The son of Cosmic Chief began fairly off the inside draw before zooming through to the lead and from there victory was always going to be his. Shaft ran on strongly for Jen Thompson to finish second ahead of outsider Locksley Road who was prominent throughout after a fast getaway. Alf Monelli scored by five lengths and posted a smart 22.70, a time two lengths outside of his PB (22.58) set last month. He is trained out of Nambeelup by David Hobby and is owned by Mike and Michelle Quinsee.

RACE 1 NUMBER 6 SHAFT : Began only fairly before weaving through for a gutsy second.

RACE 3 NUMBER 7 BARON IMPACT : Didnt have much luck but still hit the line strongly.
