Lovely Banks (R6 N4) exploded from the boxes and never looked in trouble to win the city class grade five over the 509m at Northam this afternoon.

After landing on the bunny from box four, the $4140 winners cheque was also going to trainer Tim Mullany and connections.

It was win number 10 from start 28 for the bitch by Cosmic Chief out of Peejay Tadmore who clocked a slick 29.48.

Winsome Amanda produced a good run to finish second, five and three quarters behind the winner.

Ice Toronado was also an eye catcher in third on his WA debut after making the move from the eastern states.

Liam’s Entity missed a place for the first time at Northam, but he had plenty of help after colliding with Winsome Amanda around the first turn and being taken out of contention.

Starboost, the Mandurah Oaks winner, also found trouble, but stuck on well enough to suggest with a better draw she could be competitive in this compay.

Greyhounds to follow:

Razor Blade (R1 N2) the former New South Wales chaser made a successful debut over the Northam 297m from a good draw. The time of 17.32 was quick and expect her to take improvement from her first start in the state. Is one to follow in coming starts.

Fluent (R2 N4) chalked up her first win over the 509m in a speedy 29.57 despite the tricky draw. After a second placing in her debut run, the Steve Shinners-trainer speedster clearly has ability and should be competitive in higher class races then this.

Moonshine Mandy (R3 N1) was just as impressive winning her maiden race, also over the 509m. It was the first time at the track for the Steve Shinners-trained chaser who won in a time of 29.63. The daughter of Buck Fever out of Fancy Jaffa is just another young greyhound to follow from the Shinners kennel.
