“Mique makes full use of box one”

Peter Hepple trained youngster Mique was an impressive winner of today’s Avon Valley Twilight Maiden over 509m. The son of High Earner qualified behind litter mate Sugaque in 30.21 back on August 24. He made contact with the rail on debut ten days later but still managed to finish third, nine lengths astern of the winner Widows Peak. This afternoon he began swiftly from the red box and race favourite Fluent from box two also began speedily. With the inside advantage Mique was able to drive through at the first turn and set up a handy break. While Fluent did make ground late Mique was able to score by three lengths in the promising time of 30.03. A dozen  lengths away third was the Enzo Crudeli prepared Desert Chick. Mique is out of the highly talented Delaque who Hepple also trained. She won 12 of 47 career starts and posted a sizzling 30.35 over 530m at Cannington.

“Hounds to Follow”

RACE 1 NUMBER 3 CAUSIN’ FEAR : Made up many lengths in the middle stages to finish third.

RACE 4 NUMBER 3 BRINSKY’S GIRL : Was posted for most of the race but still managed a minor placing and she should win a Maiden soon.
