20150909 Mandurah Wednesday

LOCKSLEY ROAD (R1 N8) broke a winless streak of almost six months tonight after a drop in class and distance proved the right formula.

After just one win from 18 careers starts prior to tonight, the Michelle Beamish-trained chaser saluted from box eight.

The son of Oaks Road out of Chez Belle was racing in good form in provincial company without winning and was able to run a personal best at the track and distance of 17.49.

Getting the monkey off the back could see Locksley Road go on with the job and win again in similar grade.

DUBLINER (R11 N6) (Pictured with handler Luke Townsend and part owner Paul Sanders on August 26)
Dubliner’s part owner Paul Sanders sadly passed away last Thursday. As a mark of respect all handlers in this race wore black armbands. Rest in peace Paul.
Dubliner missed the start but mustered quickly through the field to win in 27.74secs and looks to be a smart bitch.

Greyhounds to follow:

DOTTIE TUCKER (R2 N1) just hung on to defeat SUPER LOVE (N2) by half a head in a time of 17.29 over the 302m. Both are emerging chasers and were aided by good draws tonight, but have the talent to hold their form.

PASSIONATE SPEED (R3 N5) made a mess of the maiden race over 490m in a slick time of 27.61. She has come back after three months away from the track in fine condition and is certainly one to watch.
