20150904 Mandurah Friday

DUKE OF ORC (R1 N8) won for the fourth time in six tries tonight.

It was his first step up to provincial grade and was impressive after a sluggish start and then exploded around the first turn to put the field away very quickly in a good time of 22.52.

The John Carmody-trained chaser has won four times over the track and distance with a third from five starts.

Explosive Gas was also good and finished second from the awkward draw of box five.

ACTIVATOR (R3 N8) also continued good form with a grade three win over the 405m course.

From the outside draw, the son of Krackenator out of Flying Typhoon, was able to fight his way onto the fence and lengthened stride around the home turn to kick away.

The triumph was his third in a row and fourth in five starts.

Spirit Of Faith finished second in the yellow rug and can be followed from a better draw after the field bunched up 50m after leaving the boxes, causing collisions and some chasers to lose ground.

Rita Gundi (Pictured above with Geoff Reid and Christine Bennett ) took out Race 8 over 647m.
