20150820 Northam Thursday

ROSCOE’S ENTITY (R5 N7) took advantage of a rough and tough grade 4/5 race over the 509m at Northam tonight to earn his first city class win.
The connections of the James Jefferies-trained chaser pocketed $4390 in winnings in a time of 29.82.
Roscoe’s Entity was able to avoid the trouble at the first turn that claimed race favourite Dan Monelli and forced Fire Woman to collide with the outside fence.
Jimmy Margetts was second favourite with punters, but after a slow get away was also hampered and lost momentum rounding into the back straight.
Elyce Rhian and Exuberant were left with Wreck Monelli and Roscoe’s Entity at the front of the field to fight out the race.
Elyce Rhian and Exuberant finished first and second respectively, both just a head away from the winner.
The rest of the field had excuses.

Greyhounds to follow:
ASTAPOR (R1 N5) has enjoyed racing in Northam and scored her first win at the track in start number five. It was an impressive country grade five win from the tricky box five in a time of 17.43. It was the Pete Brown-trained chasers second career win from 11 starts and has enjoyed the 297m at Northam and can continue to progress.
RIVERSIDE BEAU (R3 N6) won the 509m maiden by the barest of margins ahead of Where’s Sally. It has taken 11 starts to win his first race, but the final 50m of the race was the most impressive from the Pete Brown-trained chaser. Starting well will be the key for this young greyhound with the ability to finish strong.
