Jamaica The Fun held on for a well-deserved win in the Matso’s Broome Brewery grade 5 over 490m over Ronray Dreamer and the impressive West On Flicka.
All three place getters produced top performances and should be followed in coming weeks.
Jamaica The Fun was quick out of the boxes with the black and white rug and kicked strongly enough in the home turn when headed to hold on in time of 27.64.
It was the first track and distance win for the Lexia Isaac-trained greyhound in her fourth attempt.
Ronray Dreamer overcame a tough draw in box five but box seated behind Jamaica The Fun in the run and made a late charge, but just missed to take here track and distance record to one win and three seconds from four attempts.
West On Flicka is yet to finish outside the top three in three career starts and has shown plenty of promise during the early stages of her career.
It took 13 starts, but Mullenax finally broke through for victory number one in the Mandurah Mail city-class maiden over 490m tonight in a slick 27.79.
The Enzo Crudeli-trained chaser flew out of box five and was strong at the end of the race to hold off McMoory Oaks in second and third was Black Jungle who also hit the line strongly after a flat spot mid-race.
All three place getters could be followed after strong performances.
