ASTRONOMIZE (Kinloch Brae- Starlight Delly) was able to lead from box 4 clocking a 5.66 first split before being challenged down the back straight by Melbourne Cup finalist Cosmic Wize. The Paul Stuart trained dog having just his 8th career start, then dropped into another gear and raced clear to win by 3 lengths in a new PB 30.05.

STARLIGHT JACK (Kinloch Brae- Starlight Delly) was beaten out of the boxes by the Jason Thompson trained Xtreme Knocka who led into the home straight before the black WA chaser railed through and scored by a head in a new PB 30.26. The Paul Stuart trained dog has now won 13 of 21 career starts.

DOWNLIGHT (Kinloch Brae- Starlight Delly) crossed from box 8 clocking 5.66 first split and then once in front was able to lead throughout to score by 1 1/2 lengths in a new PB 30.51. The Paul Stuart bred dog was recently sold to a new syndicate of owners and sent to trainer John Carmody.  Litter brother Romeo’s Comet finished second in what was a remarkable night for the litter.

QUARTZ BALE (Yahoo Omar- Zambola Bale) never left the rail from box 1 and even though slowly away was able to push through and find the lead going into the back straight. The third winner for trainer Paul Stuart for the night won by 8 lengths from Free Candy in a new PB 30.12.

STAR RECALL (High Earner- No Recall) again clocked a slick first split of 5.66, holding out former kennel mate Gone To Heaven in the process. Down the back the Jeff Britton trained bitch raced clear scoring by 5 lengths in 30.17. The WA bred bitch has now won 28 times from 47 career starts and over $280,000 in stakes. She made last years Perth Cup final and finished third behind Keybow.

SPACE STAR ( Bekim Bale- Tonto Tears) led through out in the opening heat of the Sky Racing Galaxy and won by 6 lengths in 41.57. The Robert Britton trained chaser recently won the Gr 2 Summer Plate at Wentworth Park after finishing second behind Star Recall in the Gr 1 Sale Cup.

LADY TOY (Our Toyman- Railway Shiraz) came from a fair way off the leader My Mate Cobber after being only fairly away before winning by 1/2 length in 41.84. The Brooke Ennis trained bitch should benefit from the hit out after arriving in the heat early in the week. Her 13th career win came at her 50th start and took her stake earnings over $100,000.

WHODAT KNOCKIN’ (Knocka Norris- Shanlyn Supreme) raced into the Sky Racing Perth Cup final for trainer Jason Thompson after claiming the lead going down the back straight before racing away to win by 7 lengths in 30.55. Thompson won the 2001 Perth Cup with Sammy Mint from box 1 and will be hoping for the same draw in next weeks $140,000 to the winner final.

MY BRO FABIO (Turanza Bale- Flamenco) was most impressive in scoring in the final heat of the Sky Racing Perth Cup when after over coming trouble was able to swamp on his rivals on the home corner and score by 5 lengths in 30.47. The Gr 1 Hume Cup winner trained by Brooke Ennis was last going into the back straight before his large strides took him to the lead. An inside draw in next weeks final will see him start as one of the favourites.
