“Farmer Russel shows awesome mid-race speed to win for Corey White”

Farmer Russel has always been a very fast greyhound but his risky box manners have often let him down. This evening he drew box four in a high quality field of Provincial Grade 4 sprinters. Veteran Irving Bale flew out of box seven and looked like leading before Farmer Russel turned on the jets and zoomed through on his inside to take over. Farmer Russel turned a length in front but Irving Bale was coming back and race favourite Sunset Capone was storming home too. Farmer Russel held on by half a length to defeat Irving Bale and on their heels was Sunset Capone in third. Farmer Russel is owned and trained by Corey White and has now won 6 of 16 at Mandurah and 9 of 28 overall.
