“Back Creek Bella causes upset from box eight”

The Shane Beard trained Back Creek Bella came out running from box 8 and took out the Follow Us On Instagram Mixed 5/6 over 405m. The daughter of Ando’s Mac snapped a losing sequence of six when she crossed the field and then held off Rubidium to win by half a length. She has now won 6 of 52 career starts and has earned over $17,500 in stakes.

20220620 – Cannington Monday

SIMPLY BEAT THAT (Black Bear Lee- Quick To Go) led after gaining a start as the reserve and scored by 1 1/2 lengths in 16.64. The Trudi Mitchem trained bitch was having just her third career start in recording her Maiden victory.

DOZER CAN BROWSE (Fernando Bale- Elleni Banner) jumped brilliantly and raced away as a short priced favourite to win by 4 1/2 lengths over Robben Tux in a PB 16.12. The David Magistro trained bitch has now won 3 times from 13 starts.

BELIEVIN’ BLADE (Bekim Bale- Bluey’s Fate)  also began well from his wide draw and raced clear in the straight to defeat Simply Rich by 4 lengths. The Barry McPherson trained dog is a model of consistency with 3 wins and 14 placings from 20 career starts.

20220619 – Cannington Sunday

SHARNI GUNDI (Fabregas- Tee Gundi) scored a half head win over Shinboner Crazy in a driving finish to the opening race. The Geoff Reid trained bitch has now won 3 times from 7 starts after saluting in a PB 16.31.

ELEVATION (Fernando Bale- Elevated) led throughout from box 1 to record her Maiden victory over Cool Myra in 30.39. The win continued the successful run for trainer Krystal Shinners who prepared Amplified to win a heat of the Gr 3 Paradise Street Trophy the night before.

RAPIDO SCUD (Zambora Brockie- Miss Bondi) catapulted out of box 7 and raced away for a brilliant Maiden win in a new race record time of 21.71. The Rob Westworth trained dog had been trialling well, however his win had to be seen as he dominated from the start winning by 7 1/2 lengths over Jump Start Gundi.

20220618 – Cannington Saturday – Paradise Street Trophy Heats

OUR DREAM GIRL (West On Augie- West On Hazel) railed beautifully going into the first corner and with many of her rivals leaving the fence, the black bitch was able to race through and take the lead. The Christine Robartson trained youngster then drew away to win by 3 1/4 lengths over Your Mate in 30.29. The Owners Only owned chaser has now won twice and finished second 3 times from 6 starts.

GLOBAL GOSSIP (Aston Dee Bee- To Seven Eleven) raced away for a 6 3/4 length victory over Georgia Flash in 21.80. The Cosi Dagostino bitch has won at her past 3 starts including two of those over the 380 metres. Her ability to push through at the start has seen her with a winning record of 8 from just 14 starts.

ROBOTNIK (Beast Unleashed- She’s Fabtastic) scored a first I Up win in WA when running down the leader Rippin’ Sheen and scoring a 1 3/4 length win in 30.08. The former NSW chaser, who had won five times from 10 starts, is now in the care of Sean Kavanagh and looks set for a bright career in the West.

20220617 – Mandurah Friday

“Gangnam Monelli storms to victory in stormy conditions”

Not many greyhounds are capable of overtaking West On Grit over 405m at Mandurah but that’s exactly what Gangnam Monelli (pictured) did in heat one of The Great Western tonight. West On Grit, last year’s winner of the final set the pace and carved out great time but had no answer for Gangnam Monelli in the home straight. The Lewis Clay prepared Gangnam Monelli soared to a brilliant win and posted a mighty 22.53 in wet conditions. He scored by 2.25 lengths over West On Grit and half a length away third was Skilandis. Gangnam Monelli is raced by Katie Robson and has now won 13 of 41 career starts. The other two heat winners were West On Cobra (22.43) and Bromine (22.54).
