20201107 – Cannington Saturday – Young Stars Classic Heats

VAN BUREN (Bella Infrared- Benita Bale) exploded over the top of his rivals to score a last stride win in the listed Canning Show Cup for trainer Jamie Marsh. With the race favourite Flake Monelli getting checked on the bend start corner, the big black dog was well back early before showing his strength claiming the leader Chimera Monelli on the line scoring by a neck in 35.18. The win is his 10th from 30 career starts and takes his stake earnings past $60,000.

SUNSET TOXIC (Mepunga Blazer- Sunset Jessie) showed speed from box 6 and raced clear to win the opening heat of the Gr 3 Young Stars Classic by 6 1/2 lengths from the Oaks winner Cobargo in 30.02. The David Hobby youngster has now won at his past 3 starts.

WICKED RHYTHM (Fernando Bale- Velucci) showed speed from box 2 and with trouble behind her along the back straight, the Enzo Crudeli trained youngster raced clear for a 6 3/4 length win in the second heat of the Young Stars Classic. The black bitch has won her past 3 starts also and 5 of 11 in her short career.

SUNSET SPITFIRE (Mepunga Blazer- Sunset Jessie) had to over come some mid race trouble before keeping his unbeaten record in tact in the final heat of the Gr 3 Young Stars Classic. The David Hobby trained youngster pushed through along the rail going down the back straight before defeating Stargazer by a nose in 30.01.

20201104 – Cannington Wednesday

CRUEL BANDIT (Kinda Cruel Red- My Gal Sal) showed speed and once working to the front from his inside draw, the fawn dog went on to defeat Fire Fly Casper by 1 1/2 lengths in 22.11. The Ben MacLean trained dog recently arrived from NSW and was having his first start in WA.

CHAROS TIME (Skywalker Puma- Charos Tenetti) recorded his first win at Cannington with a 5 length victory over Moondyne Boy in 22.09. The Max Julien trained bitch was placed at her first start at Cannington the previous week and has now won 5 of 25 career starts.

OUR SEABROOK (Fernando Bale- Shared Equity) gave Hall of Fame trainer Linda Britton a winning return to the training ranks with an all the way victory from box 8. Britton won 16 trainers premierships before handing over the collar and lead to her partner Chris Halse a number of years back. Our Seabrook is named after a thoroughbred galloper Britton raced with success on the East Coast with trainer Mick Price.

SASSY BLADE (Bekim Bale- Bluey’s Fate) showed speed to hold out the favourite Owl Fin going past the judge the first time round before racing clear to score an 8 3/4 length Maiden win over Stacks Og Kuna. The Barry McPherson trained bitch had been slow away at her previous two career starts and in winning clocked a PB 30.23.

FANTASTIC GIGI (Barcia Bale- Fantastic Dotty) had been off the race track since May because of injury. Trainer Sean Kavanagh was patient in bringing the talented bitch back too racing and she didn’t let him down scoring by a head over Don’t Guess in 30.20. The blue brindle bitch has now won 6 times from just 13 career starts.

STAR BOOK Barcia Bale- Saving Bundles) worked to the front from box 7 at her first try over the 600 metres and easily defeated her rivals winning by 3 3/4 lengths over Infinity Speed in 34.95. With insufficient numbers for at 520 metre FFA, trainer Jamie Marsh decided to step his talented bitch up too the middle distance and she was impressive.

20201028 – Cannington Wednesday

WICKED RHYTHM (Fernando Bale- Velucci) led throughout from box 2, scoring by 1 3/4 lengths over Just Wins Boss in a PB 29.86. The Enzo Crudeli trained bitch has now won 5 times from just 10 career starts including her last two.

WISE EL NINO (Fernando Bale- Cosmic Wise) recorded his first win over the 380 metres with a slashing all the way victory over Mr Little Hook winning by 5 3/4 lengths in 21.71. The Michael Hine trained dog recently won over the 520 metres in 30.55. Hine trained 2 of the first 3 winners on the card also saluting with Not Quite Goldie in the first.

PROJECTORY (Kinloch Brae- She’s Scandalous) began better than his first two starts and settled close to the leader Volute as they ran off the back straight. The Christine Robartson trained youngster then railed well and went on to score his Maiden by a length in 30.19.
