20211212 Cannington Saturday – Anniversary Cup

LITTLE MISS AVA (My Redeemer- Defy All Odds) recorded her Maiden win when she raced past the leader Smooth Move down the back straight before winning by 3 lengths in 30.43. The Enzo Crudeli trained bitch had little luck on debut when finishing fifth behind Watanabe 4 weeks before.

LOVE AND DANGER (Orson Allen- Starlight Acacia) showed race smarts as he railed underneath the leaders coming to the home corner and scoring on debut at the track by 1 1/4 lengths over Hecton’s Boy in 30.39. The Eric Campana trained dog recorded his Maiden win on debut over the 405 metres before running second behind General Cattana in the maiden final the week later.

WEST ON CIDER (West On Augie- West On Maisie) raced clear of his rivals down the back straight before winning by 7 1/4 lengths over Foxtrot Monelli in 29.85. The Chris Halse trained youngster doesn’t turn two years of age until February and looks a very promising type.

MAJOR SACRIFICE (Fernando Bale- Tatty Fields) led throughout over the 715  metres defeating his kennel mate Jayville Slick by 3/4 length in 42.01. The Krystal Shinners trained dog has now won his last two over the distance after finding it his own way in front.

20210807 Cannington Saturday – W.A. Sprint Championship Heats

GRANITE SONG (Aston Dee Bee- Juniper Twedo) pushed through to lead on the first corner and led throughout to give comeback trainer John Carmody an early win back. The Irishman retired a few years back because of illness however, decided to make a comeback with a litter of pups he and his wife Dianne bred. The black dog recorded a length win over West On Cobra in 30.48 at his second start.

ASTATINE (Collision- Spanish Queen) scored a last stride win over Shadow Ace scoring by a head in 22.64. The Terry Erenshaw trained dog has now won twice from just 5 career starts.

PANADERO OPAL (Collision- Go Go Treatment) recorded her third consecutive win when she pushed through to the lead entering the back straight before driving clear to win by 4 lengths over Keeping Tux in 30.09. The Adam Smithson youngster doesn’t turn two years of age until December.

WEST ON BRAE (Kinloch Brae- High Recall) was too classy for his rivals in the opening heat of the WA Sprint Championship, leading throughout and scoring by 3 1/4 lengths over Got The Sugar in 29.94. The Chris Halse trained dog has now won 12 times from 16 starts over the 520 metres at Cannington.

SERONG (Fernando Bale- Starlight Shine) drove to the lead and put a margin on his rivals as he raced away for a 4 length win over Jackson County in 29.94 in the second heat of the WA Sprint Championship. The Paul Stuart youngster has now won at his past 3 starts and has won 7 of 14 career starts.

20210731 Cannington Saturday

BUD MONELLI (Barcia Bale- Corona Monelli) flew late at the leader Granite Song to win by a head in a PB 30.12. The David Hobby trained dog has had some injury concerns since he made his debut in a race in November last year. He returned in June after time on the side lines to win at his 4th career start. Granite Song is trained by John Carmody, with the veteran returning to the training ranks after retiring due to illness a few years back.

HISTORIC TIME (Kinloch Brae- She’s Historic) ran home strongly to claim the early leader West On Grit near the line to win by 1 1/4 lengths in 30.03. The Enzo Crudeli trained dog had been knocking on the door with placings at his last two starts.

SERONG (Fernando Bale- Starlight Shine) showed too much class for his rivals crossing from box 8 and then racing to the front along the back straight. The Paul Stuart trained dog then raced clear of Mambo Monelli to win by 3 3/4 lengths in 29.95. The black dog has now won 6 of 13 starts.

WEST ON BRAE (Kinloch Brae- High Recall) showed speed to lead from box 5 and then was too classy for his rivals scoring by 2 3/4 lengths over Super Zoom Jake in 29.95. The Chris Halse trained dog has won 11 of 15 starts at Cannington and will go into the heats of the WA Sprint Championship as one of the leading chances.

20210721 – Cannington Wednesday – Kanyana Trophy

SONOVA GUNN (Fernando Bale- Nanza Gunn) ran home strongly to claim the leader Makuru coming into the home straight and scoring his Maiden win. The Greg Horne trained youngster had been placed 3 times from 6 career starts before defeating Ace Nova by 3 lengths in 30.46.

ZEAK (Vanderworp- Legit Boss) showed speed from box 3, clocking a 5.39 first split, before holding off Chestnut Monelli to win by a half length in a PB 29.84. The Margaret Hepple trained dog has now won twice from 13 starts.

KAPITO (Vanderworp- Legit Boss) led throughout from box 4 at his return from injury. The Margaret Hepple trained youngster clocked a PB 29.69 as he defeated West On Atlas by 10 1/2 lengths. The black dog has now won twice from 3 career starts and has a bright future.

20210616 – Cannington Wednesday

QUICK TIN (Kinloch Brae- Trickster Lumik) was quickly away from box 6 and recorded a 2 3/4 length Maiden win over Chittering Mist in 22.02. The Barry McPherson trained bitch had been placed twice from 4 career starts and clocked a PB in recording her win.

EXPLODED RAVIOLI (My Redeemer- Early Shirley) bounced on the arm and led throughout from box 1, defeating Causeway Girl by 3 1/4 lengths in 22.00. The Colleen Pierson trained dog has now won 3 of 4 starts over the 380 metres.

WATCH ME SIZZLE (Mepunga Blazer- West On Lola) missed the early trouble and railed underneath the leader Deep Pocket Nod going along the back straight. The Enzo Crudeli trained bitch then went on to record her Maiden victory winning by 2 3/4 lengths in a PB 30.12.
