“Elite Deluxe marches into Chase Final for Jamie Marsh”
Explosive short-courser Elite Deluxe took out Heat Two of The Chase tonight from box two. The daughter of Aussie Infrared made it 22 wins from 43 career starts all of which have resulted over the 400m distance at Mandurah. She began brilliantly as usual but so did a few others so she had to grit her teeth at the first turn to hold them all out. Gold Smirch (box 7) and Mabel Monelli (box 3) both challenged strongly for the lead but were unable to cross. Elite Deluxe sped clear in the middle stages but Rusty Rocket charged out of the pack and looked ominous. Elite Deluxe found enough to score by half a length in 22.43 over Rusty Rocket and a length away third was Sunset Clarice. The other three heat winners were Aston Nero (22.48), Hong Kong Phooey (22.52) and Sunset Agrippina (22.45). The box draw for The Chase Final :
- SUNSET AGRIPPINA
- ELITE DELUXE
- HONG KONG PHOOEY
- ASTON NERO
- HUDSON
- SHEERAN MELODY
- RUSTY ROCKET
- TARAWI LOCK
- SUNSET CLARICE
- UNCHECKED
