“Barry McPherson produces the roughest Quinella in the History of Greyhound Racing”
Not even the tinniest of punters could have predicted the result of the fourth race at Mandurah tonight. Barry McPherson had two runners engaged, Spare Me in box four and Wedge Run in box six. Spare Me started 100/1 fixed odds after only having won 2 of 112 career starts and only top two finishes from 72 starts over 300m. Wedge Run also started 100/1 having the unflattering statistic of 104 races without a victory. However, and it’s a big however, both chasers began with plenty of energy and landed first and second after twenty metres. Their six opponents had bumping duels which allowed the outsiders to finish first and second with Wedge Run taking the honours in a slow 17.74. The Quinella returned $654 while the Exacta, Trifecta and First Four all produced carryovers to the next race.
HOUNDS TO FOLLOW :
Trial 1 Number 1 STINGER FADE : Powered home for third after being squeezed at the first turn, has plenty of ability.
Trial 2 Number 1 BING BING ROCKET : Led throughout over 488m in a smart 27.78 and won by five lengths.
