“Fire Up Frog leads all the way for Glen Currie”
Speedy chaser Fire Up Frog impressed tonight, winning the Auto Owls Bentley Country Novice over 400m. The daughter of Hooked On Scotch rocketed out of box four and sizzled to the first turn in 6.27 before gliding to victory and recording a new PB of 22.69. Her most recent victory occurred over 297m at Northam on June 15 when she posted a slow time of 17.52. The Pete Brown prepared Soul Surfer gave pursuit but couldn’t reel in Fire Up Frog who held ‘too many guns’. Soul Surfer was beaten just over a length and another three lengths away third was Lady Of Luxury. Currie has trained plenty of winners in the past and has always had a knack of producing a zippy short-courser.
