ASTON NERO (Aussie Infrared-Fantastic Dotty) led throughout from his inside draw scoring by 3 1/2 lengths over Spencer in a PB 29.62. The Kody Charles trained dog had been racing well over the 400 metres recently and the step up in distance didn’t offer any challenges to the black dog.

WEST ON MODEL (Tommy Shelby-Deluxe Model) found the lead from box 6 and then held off the mid race challenge from the favourite Aston Ruler before going on to score over the 601 metres. The Chris Halse trained bitch had been placed at her past two starts over the 715 metres. The black bitch won by a half length over King Kuna in 34.69.

LINGUINE MONELLI (Superior Panama-Kirra Monelli) after being last going past the judge the first time a round, ran home along the rails to claim kennel mate and the leader Frogs Monelli near the line to win the Greyhounds WA Lew Dorsa Memorial Trophy Final. The David Hobby trained dog ended a losing sequence of 14 starts to take out the feature listed event. The black dog won by a half length in 29.85 and gave Hobby his second win in the race after winning with Stout Monelli in 2021.
