“Junk Yard Jeff relishes box one and a grade drop to win”

Out of form sprinter Junk Yard Jeff made light work of tonight’s Auto Owls Bentley Country 6 over 300m. The son of Tommy Shelby had only managed one minor placing from his last four starts but because he dropped in grade and drew box one was well supported into a $2.50 fixed odds favourite. The James Jeffries trained chaser didn’t let his backers down, finding the top early before scouting wide and winning by a length. His time of 17.39 was good enough to defeat Zatara Mac and Believe In Dream. This evening’s victory took Junk Yard Jeff’s career record to 35 starts for 7 wins and 13 minor placings.

HOUNDS TO FOLLOW :

Race 5 Number 1 IMPRESS BUGSY : Improved sharply to score by four lengths in a brisk 22.55.

Race 8 Number 2 HELL BENT : Stormed home to win and might be looking for a step up in distance.
