“Aussie Gem wins another 400m FFA for Jamie Marsh”
Mandurah track specialist Aussie Gem cashed in on box one to win tonight’s Prime Trophies 400m Provincial Free For All. The daughter of Aussie Infrared flew out to set the pace and despite coursing wide just before straightening, was able to win by a comfortable margin of two lengths. Race favourite Brave Annie finished second for Andrew McLaren and a length away third was the fast finishing Aston Nero. Aussie Gem took her amazing career record to 80 starts for 19 wins and 41 minor placings. The victory took her lifetime earnings over $96,000 which is a herculean effort for a 400m greyhound. Her mother Fabs Gem was similar, winning 17 of 37 at the Mandurah venue and accumulating over $104,000 in stakes.
