“Canya Caviar lights up Mandurah on debut”

First starter Canya Caviar was extremely impressive at her first race start tonight, leading throughout over 400m to win by 8.75 lengths in an electric 22.37. The daughter of Tommy Shelby won her qually trial in a modest 22.97 but was checked early on and had some overtaking to do after settling third at the first turn. This evening she bounced out quickly from box one and set the pace, clocking a solid 6.37 to the first turn before racing away to win very comfortably. Global Dream finished second a neck in front of Waddles Monelli. Canya Caviar’s mother is Modern Talking who won 7 of 22 in NSW and QLD. Modern Talking’s first litter sired by Fernando Bale produced Canya Molly who won 12 of 41 and Canya Talking who won 8 of 28.
