“Rippin’ Ruby runs the hands off the clock”
Promising young chaser Rippin’ Ruby turned two in January and put in a magnificent performance at Mandurah tonight. The daughter of Feral Franky had been out of the placings at her first five career starts over distances ranging from 381m to 488m. This evening from box seven in a City Class Maiden she began better and zoomed to the lead as the field entered the back straight. The 27kg bitch took off, winning by a whopping 10.75 lengths over Solid Axle and Shotgun Seat. Her mother Rippin’ Memphis was a terrific chaser in her own right, winning 11 of 44 and earning over $73,000. She has also produced top chasers Iconic Jet, Rippin’ Moses, Italian Stallion and Simple Sally. Given Rippin’ Ruby’s time tonight, storming through the grades and up to FFA company is likely.
